And as a thank you for their hard work, we’ve surprised three of our top performers with prizes! Read on to learn more about these high achieving notetakers and find out their tips for becoming a successful StudySoup Elite Notetaker.
Dana Susan Foley: iPad Mini Winner
Dana is a freshman at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She’s majoring in English with the intention of continuing on to earn a degree in teaching. Dana says she’s always been passionate about reading and hopes to someday share that passion as a high school English teacher.
At the beginning of this semester, Dana had been considering getting a job to earn some extra cash when she saw a Pinterest ad for the Elite Notetaker position at StudySoup. But she was apprehensive about the program at first.
“I thought that it sounded a little too good to be true,” she said, “But then I found out that it was legitimate and starting using the site”.
With this being her first semester using StudySoup, Dana has found the site to be really beneficial to her this semester.
“I like how easy it is and that it’s really convenient. You can work as you please, which is nice. And the flexibility of it is great,” she said.
Dana also mentioned that her notes have improved since becoming an Elite Notetaker and that the position has helped her to become more organized.
What’s her secret to becoming a top performing Elite Notetaker? Dana says it simply comes down to effort.
“You get out of it as much as you put into it,” she said, “If you give effort and stay consistent, then you’ll see results”.
Eun-Sung Chang: Amazon Gift Card winner
Eun-Sung studies Childhood Education & Special Education/Psychology at New York University. Though she’s only starting off her college career as a freshman, she has aspirations of earning a master’s degree in psychology. After graduation, she hopes to work with children as a psychologist or social worker.
Eun-Sung stumbled upon StudySoup through Facebook. Though she didn’t quite know what to expect as an Elite Notetaker, she wanted to give the program a try, hoping that it would help her earn some extra money. It didn’t take long for Eun-Sung to catch on to the Elite Notetaker program.
“Overall, the program is great. I get to earn money by taking notes, paying more attention in class, and helping classmates,” Eun-Sung said.
She’s also become a go-to resource for her classmates, with fellow students approaching her with questions and asking to study with her.
Eun-Sung says becoming a successful notetaker is as easy as just paying attention in class.
“I’ve gotten a few emails from classmates saying they prefer my notes because I add in extra things like comments the professor makes into them. Little things like that can help students understand the notes and material better”, said Eun-Sung.
Kristy Trahan: Amazon Gift Card Winner
Kristy is freshman at Louisiana State University. A lover of animals, Kristy is an Animal Sciences major and an active member of the Block and Bridle Club. The club focuses on bringing about “a closer relationship among all students who will one day be leaders in the animal agriculture industry”.
Kristy hopes to continue her close work with animals after graduation as an Animal Scientist, where she can help them stay healthy and productive.
After noticing StudySoup on Instagram last semester, Kristy decided to give the Elite Notetaker program a shot. The position has helped her to create more quality notes and to better understand her class material.
To find success as an Elite Notetaker, Kristy recommends using the textbook, if the class has one, and using it to fill in any additional details students might have missed in class or to get more information on concepts you don’t fully understand.
