Chapter 5 continued Chart graphical representation of the data Column Chart is useful when you want to compare the values across a single category Bar Chart the only difference between a bar chart and a column chart is that column charts are horizontal and bar charts are vertical Pie Chart useful when you want to show individual relationships as compared to a whole Area Chart useful for cumulative results When you create a chart 2 new tabs will pop up in the ribbon Use these 2 tabs to edit your chart Charts have buttons called sizing handles to make your graph bigger or smaller There will also be 3 tools to the right of your chart if you put your cursor on your chart Those tools can be used quickly to edit your chart as well Legend shows what each color in the chart represents To move a chart to another sheet Go to the design tab located in the ribbon click move chart a dialogue box with options will pop up go from there Do not copy and paste Chapter 6 Scenario Analysis process used to create different scenarios to make decisions while using a decision support model Critical Numbers in a Scenario Analysis The assumption values excel allows us to assign names to those critical numbersquot those are known as Range Names Rule to follow when using range names names can only start with a letter abc an underscore or a back slash If you wish to delete the name you ve created for a range you have to go to the Formulas tab in your ribbon then in the defined names group you will find a manage names button That button will cause a dialogue box to pop up giving you the option to delete any range names you have created To create a What if Analysis select highlight the assumptions then select the Data Tab in the ribbon then go to the Data Tools Group and click What If Analysis Once the dialogue box pops up clikc scenario manager From here you can create as many different scenarios as you wish When you ve finished creating those scenarios you have the option to create a scenario analysis summary that will put all of the scenarios is an easy to readunderstand chart With scenario analysis there are Changing Cells which are the cells that have values that you will change to create the different scenarios There will also be Result Cells which are the cells that have values that will only change as a result of one of the values in a changing cell being different An example of a result cell is the cell that is indicating a grand total or sales revenue or profit etc
