Dr. Alastuey is awesome, I took her class Foundations of Health during the Winter Mini-Session and found it quite enjoyable. The class isn't hard, but it's not a complete blowoff. I read the book, wrote up good notes, studied them thoroughly and did well in the class. The class structure is clear and the workload is normal. Would recommend. ...Continue reading

She uses alot of powerpoint notes...so bring your labtop to keep up with her lectures. She also likes to assign atleast one group presentation. Her powerpoints will help you with her exams...I never bought the required text for her course and made a B+ ...Continue reading

She's definitely one of the best teachers I ever had. Great for people wanting an easy A, but otherwise it was disappointing. It felt like a high school class. ...Continue reading

(Fall 15) . You get 2 attempts for each test (5 tests)and I rarely used the book and got an A on each test. I have a study buddy, which helped a bit. She's making us do a hlt fair by ourselves, which is useless stress, but I guess helps the resume. Lives what she preaches in aspects to health. GIVES OUT TEST QUESTIONS AT THE END OF EACH CLASS ...Continue reading

Such a sweet, motivated professor! We didn't use the text book at all because she didn't like it. She only takes attendance the first few weeks of class and then stops. The two labs are easy A's and the exams aren't difficult either. I'd recommend attendance because she sometimes shows movies which end up having questions about them on the exams. She calls roll because she wants to get to know you. Overall, if you show up to class you WILL get an A. This was such an easy class as long as you do the projects. She is very caring and loves all of her students. You will love her even more if you go running with her after class sometimes. ...Continue reading

LOVE Robin Proctor. Very genuine person who really cares about health and her students. Easy class and enjoyable. She teaches life lessons that go way beyond the classroom. Love this class and professor. She is a really sweet woman and actually cares about her students. Class wise i felt this class was fairly easy. I purchased the book which is very helpful for the tests, but attendance is not really strict. i would recommend others to take her class, you're learning but its also a fun chill class. ...Continue reading

Mrs. Proctor is an awesome instructor. She is my favorite teacher at UH BY FAR. She has a way of being personally involved with her students. She is pretty funny too with her Y'all! and trying to be up on the lingo. Great teacher, course content is difficult but she will go over test questions that are tricky and sometimes give you the answer. 2 Lab assignments: read 2 files and answer 3 q's on each(easy). The tests are straightforward, you need to have read the material, as you don't have much time to answer questions. She answers emails in a timely manner. Easy A ...Continue reading

Very nice lady, will go out of her way to learn your name, make sure you're happyhealthy. She has a cute, quirky sense of humor and makes the subject very interesting. She tells you what is going to be on the tests and shows lots of interesting movies. I would definitely take her again. ...Continue reading

Class was easy but not in-depth enough. Very outgoing teacher. She's always in a good mood and happy to be in class. She did attendance most of the time in the beginning of the semester since it's part of your grade. It's not a pass around one, she calls your name to learn it. As long as you do your work you should be fine. She cares about her students and it shows when she teaches. This class is an easy A as long as you go. Participation, a health assignment, and tests make up your grade. I highly recommend her. ...Continue reading

The way Prof. Proctor teaches, it is more of an easy A for football players than a course where anything of value is learned. Inconsistent tests-only twice gave correct answers, other times changed all the questions. No study guide, way too much work, studying, and outlining only to receive a B every test. Not an easy A! The UH could improve this course by putting a professor in place that actually knows something about public health. But if you don't want to think this class is great. ...Continue reading

Lectures were boring and power points did not help. Her test are hard because the answer choices are more in depth than what is covered in the book. I read the chapters and power points, even had the book infant of me while taking the test and still did not get higher than a 60 on all her test. She was not very helpful either. Power point notes are not specific or detailed, so you probably have to read the book. I really hate about her class is that her tests open from 8AM-11AM according to the syllabus. WHO DOES THAT?! She also doesn't send out many emails about tests because thats how I missed my final. ...Continue reading
