although she has the ability to teach and does a good job at it, and honestly repeats a lot, the tests and homework are a nightmare. Her test and homework are very difficult, but her lectures are clear and this is not a bad class if you're willing to put the work in. The people who complain about her, are lazy students that don't realize... YOU ARE IN COLLEGE. The material is difficult to master, because its completely new concepts. She explains it so clearly. The key to organic chemistry is PRACTICE, regardless of professor. Dr. Bean gives you the material to learn and expects you to learn it for her tests. Practice is key to this class so it is strongly recommended to take the workshop. Dr. Bean is a nice professor and occasionally will invoke some humor in her lectures. Def take her. Her notes are really good and clear. You have to go to class everyday & read the textbook. She has a good curve, but if you didn't do well on the first two tests, I suggest you retake it later. ...Continue reading

Dr. Bean's lectures aren't super helpful (the SEP workshops help with understanding more), but her tests are formatted like her old tests. I love her style and her explanations are always clear. I learned a lot. She offers lots of practice with her mad minutes and they're very helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend her! If you do these things then a B is definitely possible. Be prepared to have this class fill up most of your semester's time because it is a time consuming class, but Bean definitely does what she can to make it a fun and understandable subject to her students. ...Continue reading
