Professor Reviews in BIOL 1202

Pollock is very knowledgeable, but some times has trouble getting what's most important through. I found his lectures interesting and overall I think he's a great professor, and would take him again. With that said, the lectures are good, but you NEED TO BE THERE. Go to his class. Always. Take good notes and utilize office hours. Not easy A. His lectures are clear and he's a funny guy. He always stays after class to answer questions and always provides additional time if you need help. You really do not need the textbook for this course. You need to go to class and study the power points. ...Continue reading

He's super nice but his tests are ridiculously hard. He tends to go on tangents in class and makes it hard to keep up with what's info for exam and what's niff noff info. I sat near the front and recorded his lectures (which he allows) because it is hard to keep up. Gives online quizzes and there's a big hw curve at the end of the semester. Study a lot If you need a class where your grade isn't soley on just tests and quizzes do not take him. Attendance isn't mandatory but it doesn't hurt to go to class. He's really funny and makes his lectures interesting but his tests were impossible next to the quizzes that were so easy. Prepare to study like crazy for his exams I REPEAT. ...Continue reading

JHop is the best professor I've taken at LSU. He has office hours at convenient hours and is always willing to help clarify anything. The tests are tough, but go to review sessions and do moodle quizzes for extra credit. Going to class and doing homework is mandatory. The SI sessions are highly recommended. His tests are pretty tough but makes up for it by allowing you to earn up to 10 bonus pts per exam. Must attend class for clickers and to be eligible to replace your lowest exam score with your final. Would recommend SI if struggling. JHop is probably the best chemistry professor at LSU. ...Continue reading

A lot of people think that he's a good professor, but I think he's a horrible professor. He is very unclear and vague even though he tries to be specific. His tests are incredibly difficult for a 1000 level class takes tests way too seriously. His voice is very annoying and he gives A LOT of homework. Do webchem tutor and moodle quizzes. ...Continue reading

Worst professor ever!!! Tests are super hard, homework won't prepare you for his tests, neither will moodle Quizzes(takes A LOT of time to complete those). He goes over very simple material in class for hours and than on the test he gives extremely hard problem. Talking about 44 class average on the tests. Do not take Amount of work, homework & exam questions unreasonable. Lectures vague and pulls stuff from left field. This should be an honors chemistry course for those that took AP Chem in high school. Avoid otherwise. ...Continue reading

An average day in Crousillac's class: the hot Dr. C sitting with his feet propped on a desk and explaining bio and you browsing reddit because tests are directly from the notes & straightforward. Hogan is simple, study the quiz reviews because they are exactly like the actual quizzes (test) and do the homework, get as much points as possible on it because it helps you in the long run, got an A in his 1201 and 1202, not difficult just need to put in a little effort. . didn't even go to class just studied quiz reviews. ...Continue reading

If you are going to be a Bio Chem major don't take, if you want to make easy B or C (depending on what kind of person you are) and don't really care about Chemisty this is the class for, just get your 60 points, take the final (study some for it at least) you can mange a 15 on the final and atleast a 5 point curve, BOOM! He babbles on for about 30 minutes, and guess what it's about... NOTHING! You just need to buy the book and teach yourself. Go to class for quizzes and such. If you get bored in class then feel free to play Flappy Bird. The bird will give you more life than Hogan will. But I'm schleep tho. ...Continue reading

He gives an extra credit assignment that is worth up to 45 points and is relatively easy to do. However, his tests are very difficult and require a lot of preparation and studying before hand. The final exam normally has a very big curve (20 or more points) which can be helpful. Going to class is only worth it if you pay attention and take notes. ...Continue reading

Get ready to teach yourself Chemistry 1202. You'll probably do well on the actual tests and with his bonus assignment you could get to the final with a high A. The final is made by the department and worth 30% of your grade. Since you didn't learn anything in the class you'll fail it and your high A will drop to a B. Stay out of his office. ...Continue reading

He's the type of professor that puts his old exams online, so if you just study from those it's basically the same thing. I honestly never go to class unless there's a quiz (which are not pop quizzes). Even though I didn't go to class, I still learned a lot on my own. ...Continue reading

Nice guy, really can only catch him when he visits Evangeline. You get to take a pretest before every test *even the final* which helps you know what to study and what questions are like. But the tests are still very hard. Tests are 70% of your grade so you need to do well on those to get there grade you desire. He's adorable. Gives Pretests, easier than the actual test but help you gauge what you need to learn. I never read the book and did fine, so I have no clue what others are ranting about. ...Continue reading
