Professor Reviews in FIN 3403

Professor Tandon is incredible! He came in on a Sunday morning to review before the exam which provided so much additional help. He teaches for the slowest student and will not move on until everyone in the class understands. The subject matter of Finance is difficult to understand, but if you do your homework and read the book you can get an A+ ...Continue reading

He is a teacher who knows what he is talking about. But to pass just do all the homework and the problems he gives you and read the chapters and go to class and you'll be fine. He explains everything really well. He is a great teacher for a hard subject. But this class does take a lot of work, so keep up with the homework and extra problems he gives. It is not an easy A but its not imposible to get a good grade. Dont take this class in the summer or if you have a lot of other classes. ...Continue reading

Dr. Tandon is a great professor. If you don't have a strong background in math, his class will be challenging, but he always makes himself available for office hours, will sit with you individually if you need help. The only reason people don't like him is because this is the only business course you have to work for an A in. ...Continue reading

I have taken tandon for several classes in finance. He is the best at usfl. He is always willing to hepl you, he uses his formulas over the books becuse they are more simple. Great teacher take him if you actually want to learn something in school. ...Continue reading

Dr. Tandon is one of the best professors at USFL. Probably the most helpful professor I have had throughout college. He will take the time to make sure you fully understand material and actually cares if you make a good grade. He also gives you extra problems to practice with the solutions posted with them. These really help you to prepare for the tests. ...Continue reading

Best professor if you really want to understand finance, but doing well in his course will consume your life. According to this Professor he does not know what is on his exams. Overwhelming level of work. Refused to review for the exam. Take it at another school from someone else. ...Continue reading

Most difficult course ever! Could not understand what he was saying due to his accent, not to mention he moves through the material at warp speed! Not a professor that I would suggest to anyone!!! ...Continue reading

Do not take Tandon in Lakeland, take Besley in Tampa. The course is easier and you get more out of it. He gives you the formulas you need for the test and they are multiple choice. Also, Besley is very helpful if you have questions, unlike Tandon who expects you to figure it out on your own. He is very hard to understand and offers no help at all. I had to get a tutor and he was not even able to reccomend one for me. I would strongly not reccomend taking his class! ...Continue reading

  • Class rating 5/5
Honestly, he has one of the fairest grading policies in the entire college. The material isn't easy, so don't expect the class to be. However, if you put in the time to study the material, do the homework and attend the TA session, you should pass. If all else fails. .take the make up exam but DO NOT drop. Class is passable. Good luck. ...Continue reading

Many of the reviews you read are similar to my views as well, although he has many sources to use to help study: book, online lectures, aplia, in-class lecture, powerpoint notes, outlined notes, and I had TA's who were very helpful. Do the extra credit project!! ...Continue reading

  • Class rating 2/5
Well, he doesn't actually teach the class, the TAs do that. If you are a Finance or an Accounting major you are ok. If you have any other major beware. Extreme amount of work. You have to buy his book and pay for special quiz website. EXPENSIVE! TA teaches different from Professor. DO NOT TAKE! He never comes to regular class. Deceitful, elusive, can't teach. Wrote incomprehensible book. Teaches in Financial jargon makes no effort to make material understandable. Doesn't care about students. Conservative jerk. HW probs and tests bare no resemblance to what was actually taught. Would rather play with students' head than actually teach. Awful! ...Continue reading

AVOID CLASS AT ALL COST!! Instead of getting people to learn basic finance principles straightforward, he throws in unneccesarily tricky questions into the mix. His review sessions aren't very helpful he usually tells you to just read the book (that he wrote). Described in one word: lifeless and useless. hw and quizzes worthless for the exam. horrible teacher, wrote the book and I dont think he wants anyone to pass. dont take him!!! ...Continue reading

Great professor, makes lectures intersting! Actually cares if you understand the material. Resonds to emails extremely fast. Is very approachable. I recommend anyone to take him if you can. ...Continue reading

Not a great explainer. Do Homework it counts for a good % of grade. Professor ended up dropping first 2 exam grades( i got a D and a F) and our final counted as 70% of our grade... I ended up with a B+. Made me stress the whole semester for no reason! ...Continue reading

If you hate Besley and his TAs at Tampa Campus, Prof. Manullang is a GREAT option!!! I hated Finance and took it before and failed miserably! But Prof. Manullang really made learning finance interesting and fun. He is extremely helpful and tries his hardest to explain things so you understand clearly. Great guy overall. If you make a valid effort and go to class, you will pass his class. ...Continue reading
