Dr. Carmichael is the best! One of my favorite teachers on campus- very understanding of students and really listens and respects their views. He would fight a lab t.a. on their judgment if he feels your decision is correct. His enthusiasm for biology made the lecture so much more enjoyable and he is great about giving proper information to do well on the tests. His teaching methods are great and I would him for anyone that has to take this class. ...Continue reading

Very nice and easy to approach. He makes things very easy to understand and he is always available for help outside of class. You can tell biology is his passion and he wants his students to get good grades. Make sure you go to class though because he teaches you much more than what his notes say. A lot of in class activities keeps it interesting. Fair with tests with many review sessions scheduled so everyone can go. No homework but gives optional at home learning assignments. Will need text book for him ...Continue reading

Absolutely loved taking this class with Carmichael. He genuinely cares about his students. If you make an honest effort to learn, you should have no problem getting a good grade with Dr. C. He even tells students to talk with him if they feel they should have done better on an assignment. He gives really good study tipsskills. ...Continue reading

He is SUCH a great professor! He's passionate about Biology. His class isn't easy, but college isn't easy. If you know how to study you'll do fine. Do the learning assignments before the quizzes, GO TO CLASS (he doesn't put everything on the lecture slides), and do the end of chapter ?'s, at least 5 questions on each test come from these. ...Continue reading

You have to learn most of the material out of class. He doesn't lecture. If you have a question for him out of class he wont respond over email. Uses moodle over blackboard, says its better. No place to see your grade without having to add up every assignment and test. If you can, just take another prof if you can fit it into your schedule. ...Continue reading

Lectures aren't bad to attend. Gives away a lot of free points from in class activities on Fridays. Powerpoints are a little vague but if you use the book to help you you'll be fine. Tests are pretty fair. Some questions you will have seen before. Cool sense of humor. Definitely take it from her if you can! ...Continue reading

Relatively hard 2 warm up 2 and like, however towards the middle of the semester I didn't mind her. Group work every day that is easy to build up your overall score but almost impossible to get 100% on (9 out of 10 on most). Tests are hard but they are such a small percentage of your grade. I still had an A after getting very low grades on the test ...Continue reading

Not the most amazing teacher. Incredibly boring to listen too. Not necessary to attend lecture, just reading text is enough. ...Continue reading
