Professor Hamilton is by far one of my favorite professors at UGA. You can choose whether to make attendance and/or the group project part of your grade. I chose 3 tests + attendance. I made an A, but the tests are intense. One covered 9 chapters of reading, lectures, and required listening. If you study, you will succeed. He is inspiring, engaging, and really makes the wheels turn if you're into advertising. Study a lot, the tests are intense, 200+ pg reading/lecture notes/ required listening. You can choose how you'd like your grade formatted, I chose 3 tests + attendance + group project. TAKE THIS CLASS!! ...Continue reading

Hamilton is great, kind of the human incarnation of dad jokes. His lectures are really clear and engaging so it's easy to want to go to class. He lets you choose how you want to be graded- group project, attendance, or just count tests. His tests are pretty easy if you pay attention in class, and I wouldn't suggest doing a group project. ...Continue reading

  • Class rating 4/5
The lectures were very interesting. He's engaging, funny, very clear in his lectures and just so passionate about advertising. His tests are challenging, but he gives 3 grading options to play to your strengths. I've been engaged every class & look forward to going daily. Ad majors (or not), take this guy. It's worth it. Hamilton is hilarious, and keeps class so interesting. Rarely a dull moment. I did exams and attendance option and got an A-. Tests were not difficult IMO, just take good notes and read the book. ...Continue reading

gave four grading options (tests, tests+attendance, tests+group project, tests+attendance+group project). Occasionally some decent videos, but otherwise kind of blah. I'd definitely come to class unless you can get notes from someone else all the time otherwise you're screwed on the tests. All of his lectures make sense and he makes class really entertaining - one of the best lectures I've had. The only cons are that the books do not parallel the lectures (on purpose) and you HAVE to read if you want a good grade - sometimes it's 200+ pages of reading. However, he does let you choose how you'd like to be graded ...Continue reading

Professor Hamilton is by far the best professor I've ever had. Dr. Hamilton's lectures are very entertaining and helpful, and he lets you choose which grading method you want. His tests can be tricky but if you pay attention, they aren't too bad. He is also very helpful and will answer any questions online quickly. I highly recommend taking his class! He's very entertaining, and makes advertising fun. You can chose how the grading is done for you, which I liked. I chose tests and attendance, so I had to go to class, but I always wanted to. His powerpoint notes are easy to follow as well. Sometimes he goes a little quickly, but it's usually very easy to follow. ...Continue reading

One of my favorite professors of all time! He's so excited everyday + easy to listen to. he basically explains a concept then you watch ads as examples. PLUS you can choose how you're graded, split between attendance, exams (3), and a group project. Exams are all hypotheticals so a lil tough, but manageable. a chill dude. He is also the only teacher that I have ever seen get a round of applause on the last day and recieve thank-you notes. I thought that the class was pretty easy and that the tests were challenging but DEFINITELY fair if you study. Take it! ...Continue reading

Dr. Hamilton is great. He is very entertaining and uses a lot of really funny advertisements in his class. The tests are pretty difficult but if you study a lot and go to class you'll do fine. Only do the project if you are a bad multiple choice test taker and do the attendance option. Take it! He keeps lectures interesting and fun! However, tests are hard. He lets you choose how you want to be graded (Tests only, Tests + attendance, Tests + attendance + group project). I would recommend the last option because the project is easy and will help boost grade. ...Continue reading

Dr. Hamilton is great. The lectures were fun but the exams were HARD and ridiculous for an intro level. I received my first grade ever at UGA below a B in this course (C-) and was lucky to get that. Very demanding and had to study more than any other class, only to still manage a C- AFTER +10% from just attending. Nice guy though. ...Continue reading

He is such a fun, entertaining teacher! He's so enthusiastic. He definitely makes lectures interesting. He's super nice and more than fair with his grading. You do need to attend lectures and read the book to truly do well, but neither of which are hard or boring. I was NOT interested in this course going in, but he made it very fun and interesting. I picked the grading option that included attendance, the project, and the tests. The project was easy and my group got an A so I would recommend it. The test were not by any means easy, but I did NOT read a single chapter in the book and i made 2 Bs and an A. Definitely take good notes during the lectures!!!! ...Continue reading

Best class ever! Very interesting and fun! He is quite attractive, funny, and trys to relate with students and put things in a context that is appealing to our age group. However his tests were very unpredictable and more challenging than expected. I enjoyed him and his class and recommend it! We watched a lot of commercials. He's a cool guy, really nice, really good-looking, helpful, etc. No final, but 3 tests, which draw heavily from the books, so keep up with your reading. Go to the speaker meetings for extra credit. All you have to do is listen to cool ppl talk about their jobs, and you get points. ...Continue reading

Reichert is awesome! Such a great guy. You watch a lot of cool commercials and he does a big lecture. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there are pop reading quizzes and groupwork for class points that he does randomly, especially Fridays or days before holiday breaks! This guy is the best though. Seriously, take him. He does quite a bit of in class work that is randomly given out to make up your attendance grade. You watch a lot of commercials. The textbook is REALLY detail oriented and his tests are pretty hard. ...Continue reading

Really great teacher. He made class interesting and we watched lots of commercials. You MUST read the textbook. It's long and extremely dry but the info is on the tests. Also, go to class as often as possible. He gives easy activity/quiz grades that can really help boost your grade. Overall, fun (but not easy) class and great professor! The 1st test was easy, & I studied the same way for the 2nd test, & got a significantly lower grade...so did lots of other people. That was annoying--he needs to be a little more predictable with his tests. He does offer extra credit. I would take from him again. ...Continue reading

Reichert is a wonderful teacher- he's very experienced and teaches a lot through youtube which is fun, but his tests are really unpredictable-none of us really figured out a system as to what he wanted. Don't bother buying the textbook, and take advantage of all of the extra credit. It helps BIG TIME He gives tons of opportunities for extra credit, drops your lowest test grade (you can choose not to take the final if you're satisfied with your grade) and provides several advertising examples in class which makes class very entertaining.
