Mr. Ray is a very good teacher. Attendance not mandatory but hw is given every class period and pop quizzes on the regular. Go to his office hours and try and you will pass the class. Tests are challenging. Very sweet man and care about his students. the way he teaches is very easy to understand if you actually put forth effort. he is funny and makes learning fun. you have to do the homework to pass, and he loves to do quizzes but will tell you in advance when they are. and sometimes offers extra credit. ...Continue reading

Mr. Ray expects you to do a great deal of learning on your own. He will give you the concept and then have the class work a bunch of problems on their own (in groups) while he walks around the room and checks the progress. I would take him again. Good humored guy, very entertaining sometimes. Attendance is taken, seating is assigned. ...Continue reading

He definitely makes you work for your grade, if you aren't good at math I wouldn't really recommend him for Calc Life sciences, he moves fast through the material and his tests seem irrelevant to the classwork and homework. It's probably too late for me to get a good grade but I think he tries to teach, just make sure you're ready to study. ...Continue reading

Well I agree with most other reviewers. His test are way different and more difficult than anything we go over in class. I guess that is fine if you are majoring in math. I feel like I understood concepts until I saw the tests Fair warning do not take him, he takes off point for little small errors on the exam, some of the questions that were on the exam he never went over or discussed in class. Sorry excuse for a professor and I received a B in his class. DO NOT TAKE HIM ...Continue reading

I took professor Acosta for summer I after failing this class previously with another professor. She has an accent but it's not too bad. I'm honestly horrible in math and I think she did a pretty good job explaining and teaching it. Also she shows you a lot of tips and tricks so you won't have to do problems the long way. I liked her! I recommend! ...Continue reading

Dr. Davis is with out a doubt one of the best professors i've ever had. She is amazing at explaining the material and makes her classroom stress free. She is always eager to help students and her class was actually enjoyable. She is the best! Make sure you do the homework though so you don's fall behind. ...Continue reading

Mrs. Davis absolutely loves math! She gives homework but it's not graded. However, I recommend to do the homework because it really helps! Also, you have a quiz for every class. I also find her easy to understand when she explains math. She is a picky grader for exams. Just ask questions, do the homework, and study. Hopefully you'll do fine. ...Continue reading

Monica is very easy going and clear with what she is trying to teach you. She's a very sweet lady, and will be more than willing to help you out. I had her for intro and drawing 1, and both times she was encouraging but real with me. ...Continue reading

Monica is great. When you draw she will go around and give tips and compliments to your work to boost your confidence. Critique's are important as she gives credit to whoever speaks. Her class is fun overall and you just draw! :) ...Continue reading

I hate math. Prof. Hruzek LOVES MATH. It's because she loves math that she's such an EXCELLENT TEACHER. She makes sure her students get all the cheats and shortcuts math has to offer so that they can understand it. She made me appreciate math! Her quizzes are open notes, problems copied from the HW, so do IT! Tests too, just not open notes. DO HW!! ...Continue reading

Professor Chase knows his stuff. He recently received his PhD & relates to his students. He doesn't deduct points for silly mistakes on tests and does whatever he can to help you understand. Gives lots of extra credit. His passion inspires students who aren't even into Calculus, and his nerdy humor tops it all off. Chase genuinely loves Calculus. ...Continue reading

I dropped Acostas class to be in Lee's class. He was an awesome Cal professor. He isn't an exciting professor, but he explains EVERYTHING you need to know. If you go to class, take notes and pay attention, you will be just fine in his class. ...Continue reading

I hated this class and teacher so much. He is rude and standoffish. Sometimes he would be working a problem on the board for minutes before someone would catch a mistake at the beginning and the rest of the problem was totally wrong. He made it so confusing! I would go back through notes and not have any idea what he had done on them. ...Continue reading
