Awesome teacher. The only thing is there is alot of material to cover. It will be easy if you can keep up. Not that much homework. Easy test. ...Continue reading

She's so cool even I dont attend class very often but still make an A on her class. Just study for final and ya'll be fine! Highly recommended! She always asks the class if they understand the material & if anyone has questions. Her examples are very easy to study and are helpful to do your HW and quizzes with. Take her if you can! Easy easy easy easy teacher! ...Continue reading

Easy A if you watch her lectures. I took her online and made an A. Just make sure you get a 100 on all quizzes and try on the homework. She can come off as rude a lot because she tends to answer questions like youre an idiot but when you talk to her on the side she is actually the sweetest person so dont judge by her in class behavior ...Continue reading

Some people may find her snippy but its just her being her and I find it pretty funny. She doesnt mean anything malevolent by it and she really cares about each of her students. You can tell she loves to teach. Her notes are impeccable. She covers material thoroughly and provides examples. Gives you plenty of practice in homework and poppers . ...Continue reading

She is tough to sit through sometimes because she goes on rants and complains about students a lot but all in all i think she is a very good teacher. ...Continue reading

  • Class rating 3/5
She spends more than half the class time just talking about her personal life and lecturing us about life. She sounds very annoying and whiny and so classes seem long and torturous. But the class itself is easy and if you take notes then it's an Easy A. Just be sure to do all the homework and copy all the stuff she writes on the board. ...Continue reading

Go to class. I made the mistake of neglecting this class and skipping some poppers. I could have gotten an A in this class if I cared more. I realized halfway into the semester that I could just show up an hour into class just in time for the popper. I never really stayed for a whole class because the textbook and her notes where sufficient enough. ...Continue reading

Save your 1500 bucks. This professor is not the best at teaching the subject matter. I had algebra and calculus professors at the Jr. College level that were far better at a fraction of the cost. This class will not prepare you for Stats! If you take this class with her just be prepared to teach yourself, and struggle with Stats... Be ready to do quizzes three weeks early. Also, she yells at students that ask questions in her online class and constantly brings up her personal issues. Very unprofessional I'd never take her again. ...Continue reading

Extremely condescending and her schedule isn't accurate to what she wants you to do. I am currently in her online 1313 class & it is pretty difficult with her teaching style. She yells at you if you ask questions. Very confusing and annoying. If you are not a math wiz, I DO NOT recommend her. I basically teach myself. ...Continue reading

Took his winter mini, went to class like 4 times got an A. If you don't end up getting an A, you're probably doing something really wrong. He helps you if you ask him for help after class. ...Continue reading

1313 is way more difficult than 1314 imo. Sosa will not give you the answers to the poppers most of the time. I found Sosa's lecturing style to be boring, which made it difficult for me to stay focused in class. Most of the tests are not very difficult except for Test 3, which is notoriously loathed (the nightmare that is probability begins here). I had to cram a lot due to my other regular term courses, but it's definitely a do-able course over a span of a month. Practice, refer to his recorded lectures online for parts of the lesson you don't get, and you will be fine. ...Continue reading

Currently taking him for Finite Math 1313. At first he is hard to understand, accent is very thick & he speaks very fast, but you adjust as the semester goes. Notes are good, lectures are thorough, you have to keep up. Don't miss class. Everything on the test is taught in class. As long as you pay attention you'll be fine. Oh & ask questions. ...Continue reading

She teaches differently than book, yet homework assignments are given from the book everyday. Most help will be given by students in the Math Lab. Don't take this class if you think it will be as easy as 1310. ...Continue reading

Let me just say this first, Professor Whalen is hands down one of the nicest guys I met. I absolutely loved his class. He is quirky and charming he is super clear and always very helpful. His class was never tedious he always made it enjoyable. He does not mind to go back and clarify concepts and is always there for you. I also find him really cute he has a lovely personality! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ...Continue reading

Professor Whalen is just amazing. I missed a test at CASA and he let me take it in his tutoring hours where my other professors would tell me to just take the final and make up for it. His lectures are pretty straightforward and he tries to crack jokes every now and then. Definitely recommend! ...Continue reading
