This class is the definition of good bad. If you skip a class, you skip a chunk of test material. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS!!!!!!! nice and funny guy. (some extra credit). go to marathons ...Continue reading

There is a lot of work put into preparing for his exams. Read the book PLEASE. Scored C's on the first 2 test, hustled on extra credit, scored High A's on the last 2. Didn't have to take the final and got an A in the class. But it was NOT easy and many of my friends did not receive an A do NOT be deceived. ...Continue reading

He is awesome and funny! I took this class at the same time as Organic Chemistry, which I would never recommend that anyone ever does because both are really time-consuming. All you need to do is show up, skim the diagrams he tells you to, and you'll be fine. The curve he gives is pretty nice, he's a bro, I'd take his class again. Study like any other major class. Not easy A. BOok isnt mandatory his test comes from his notes but useful for figs. Record and write down what you miss since half is verbal, but he has slides. 4 test+final. Drops lowest that includes final. Final is same questions from your tests. Avg for test 70s. I got 2 A so far. ...Continue reading

Honestly, this class is really easy. Do not skip class and assume all is in the textbook! His exams are literally what he says verbally in lecture (and some ppt. notes). Only refer back to textbook for diagrams. Even memorizing species names is important! Lastly, I just also realized he resembles Gilderoy Lockhart from Hogwarts! ...Continue reading

Being that this is a 300 level class, considerable amount of studying and preparation are required to do well. Everyone says how hard the class was.... it really wasn't bad at ALL! Go to class, take good notes, and use the book to clarify things you don't understand. He curves every test so that helps. Tests come RIGHT FROM THE NOTES! Ecology lab isn't bad either, just pay attention and don't miss any labs! ...Continue reading

Dr. Crawford is one of the best professors I have had at VCU. He keeps class interesting with his stories and humor, and has me even thinking about what Ive learned and how to apply it! Imagine that! He's very helpful too! His tests are hard, you HAVE to know the material inside and out, and GO TO CLASS. That's where his test material comes from! The material is kind of dry but he is a very good lecturer and makes it more interesting than it actually is. He gives about 20-25 points of extra credit per semester. Edward Crawford is a great example of what a professor should be. In general, I found Dr. Crawford's class to be fair not super difficult but not easy.
