    Hist15A is mostly done online through globalyceum. Some tests and writing compositions on the website but nothing much in class. She has some in-class discussions and small assignments. Lectures are additional viewpoints on the reading which are a little bit interesting to learn about but her presentation of it is boring/slow. ...Continue reading

    Her theatrical orations held my attention. The quizzes are very easy, even though she wants very specific answers. She makes the lectures very fun to listen to, so class won't be a bore. Her sarcastic humor spices up dry topics, and is sometimes aimed at the students. Her tests are multiple choices with an essay - not too hard if you read the book and get the outlines she provides for every class. ...Continue reading

    She is a great teacher who knows how to make history fun. I tried at first to keep up on the reading, but if you have a life you'll put your history book away quickly. Lots and lots of reading. Her essay questions on the midterm are based solely from lecture and half to 3/4 of the multiple choice is from lecture. Rest of questions are from book. Students that displayed distracting behavior were singled out for questions. The midterm and final were two parts. Half multiple choice, and half essay. Multiple choice questions were provided by the textbook company. Practice quizzes were available online on the textbook website. ...Continue reading

    There are very informative and detailed lectures in her classes, and thankfully she provides great outlines that help one grasp the big picture aside from details. She is very knowledgable on the subject and can answer any questions you may have about history.     He acts like Jim Carrey when he teaches, very charismatic, has authority and convinces students of his point of view. .his lectures are interesting, and although I admit sometimes I get sleepy (I may just be a sleepy person, who knows), the way he talks about political science makes the subject very clear.     Schendan is a cool guy and down to earth. You should read the textbook to review what you learned in lecture. MAKE SURE TO WRITE DOWN EVERY SUPREME COURT CASE FROM THE BOOK AND LECTURE AND WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND THE VERDICT. The tests are chock full of supreme court cases and your ability to analyze them.     There is something to be said when you get a guy like this who is uber passionate about the subject he teaches. The tests are easy you consistantly go to class and simply listen and understand the concepts he draws out.     Very passionate in teaching history. Very helpful. He's rather old school, as he says, and seems to be a really tough teacher at first, but if you do your work, you'll do well, simple as that.     McKenzie taught the poli sci portion of the hist15 course. She's pretty easy, class is straightforward. Do your reading, pay attention in the lectures, and you'll do fine on the online exams.     Weekly quizzes based on readings and sometimes on lectures and videos shown from lectures. Very nice and high interest in what she does. Easy to talk to, I suggest taking her. They are open book but I still got a D on one of them. One was a take home because she made us go to a protest. That was wrong to me.     This class consists of two papers and weekly quizzes. The quizzes aren't hard if you attend class because she gives away a quarter of the quiz answers at the end of each class. Her prompts for the two papers are self explanatory and easy to understand, especially because she gives you an outline of the essay. She also offers easy extra credit. weekly quizzes. a few big assignments very long. reading helps a lot. Makes a history interesting. no midterms or final test just papers. she is a great tool go to her office hours it helps a lot. some assignments are complex and long. do not hesitate she will clear up any questions and generously helps you with them. ...Continue reading

    She has a lot in her lectures and expects everyone to regularly attend class by giving extra credit questions at the end that will be on the midterm and/or final. The quizes are hard but the midterm is so easy (u get the answers from the quizes and those are going to be the exact questions asked on the midterm).     She is a very nice teacher and the class isnt too hard. She gives you every single question on both her midterm and final, on her quizzes. You have to go to class considering a journal is due one day of the week and there is a quiz the other. It's not an easy class, but she's an easy prof. I'd take her again for sure.     Very nice and very approachable. It was rather easy to follow along. She gives extra credit so do that. I didn't even read the books and I got around a B+ in the class. Mixes it up with documentaries in lecture which spices up the class. Very Passionate. Gives out final exam questions at the end of each lecture. Tells you whats on the essay part.     Great person and very approachable. The majority of the class was based on a powerpoint, a 7 page term paper, and weekly quizzes. The professor was super nice and attempted to help those students who needed assistance in their writing. Professor McBane is a very helpful professor who cares about her students.     She is a terrible professor. It's sort of a bad thing even though I got an A. As long as you follow assignment instructions and do 2 extra credit options, you are guaranteed an A. Class always feels dead because the class isn't even worth showing up to because you can ace it at home. Way way too many items to fit into the word count she holds you to.     Her two essay assignments are the worst I've ever encountered. The prompt is very restricted and basically outlined for you, she requires you to use some format you'll never have heard of and if you use any sources outside of her own she'll automatically give you a D. What kind of professor drops your grade for learning more?! An extremely harsh grader with terrible guidelines to any work she assigns. Everything you do you will inevitably question, because her expectations are completely confusing.     Took the Monday night class(pols/hist). Have to write notes based on what she says out loud. She implemented a new online system (paid service) for the quizzes and final exam for which we are given plenty of time to complete. The only assignment not submitted online is defining 10 key terms. Lowest quiz score & 2 extra key terms are counted as extra credit. However, the Globalyceum software required for the class is a piece of garbage many times the questions asked had incorrect answers, and Professor Jerke constantly had to award extra credit to offset Globalyceum's incompetency. ...Continue reading

    This class was really hard. Very difficult to pay attention. Must come to class for points. Take home exams are WAY TOO HARD for a GE class. You either need 3 days to do them yourself or have friends. Field's is the white guy. Comprehensible but very very BORING. His exams are a bit easyer. Fields=Read before class. Jerke=Read during EXAMS The midterms are multiple choice and the questions are hard. They have to do with the readings not much from her lecture.     Lectures are hard to follow. i personally hate history, and after taking history 15a i still do... haha but its not as bad, because shes easy to work with. she gives extra credit all the time, and if you have a friend in that class, you guys can defnitely get an A. you need a buddy to do the take home tests with because they are hella long and tedious ...Continue reading

    Took the Monday night class(pols/hist). Have to write notes based on what she says out loud. She implemented a new online system (paid service) for the quizzes and final exam for which we are given plenty of time to complete. The only assignment not submitted online is defining 10 key terms. Lowest quiz score & 2 extra key terms are counted as extra credit. However, the Globalyceum software required for the class is a piece of garbage many times the questions asked had incorrect answers, and Professor Jerke constantly had to award extra credit to offset Globalyceum's incompetency. ...Continue reading

    This class was really hard. Very difficult to pay attention. Must come to class for points. Take home exams are WAY TOO HARD for a GE class. You either need 3 days to do them yourself or have friends. Field's is the white guy. Comprehensible but very very BORING. His exams are a bit easyer. Fields=Read before class. Jerke=Read during EXAMS The midterms are multiple choice and the questions are hard. They have to do with the readings not much from her lecture.
