Professor Reviews in BIOL 3306

Super awesome professor. This class was also pretty easy but only because she makes it as easy for us as she can. You have online quizzes before every lecture that you can take up to two times. You have 3 tests, one being the final that is cumulative and they are online! Recommend going to class to hear her explanations. ...Continue reading

Hybrid class with easy online assignments that have barely anything to do with what we learn in class. Material is difficult you have to learn on your own for tests. Three tests, all on blackboard. Really long, not a lot of time, and way too many free response and essay questions for a timed test. Small extra credit opportunities. Received a B. ...Continue reading

Her notes are just a bunch of graphs from scientific papers that correlate with concepts. You must take good notes during lecture or else the lecture notes will be very difficult to interpret. The essay question on the test is graded fairly rough. Test questions require you to understand concepts very thoroughly. Would not take this class with her. ...Continue reading

  • Class rating 1/5
Her slides were mostly pictures and graphs that DID NOT clearly explain relevant points. She has a very rude and uncompromising tone about her, and she WILL NOT provide any assistanceclarification to exam or essay questions. She might be extremely knowledgeable in her field, but her expertise is definitely not in the classroom -- POOR TEACHER. ...Continue reading

Terrible professor. He puts on this fake, I care about students, take notes, don't just read power points, and you'll do well, but his actions present the total opposite. Always saying he is too busy to have office hours then later complains that no one comes. Study old tests to make an A. Easy subject so testing is about tricks and not content. ...Continue reading

Frankino complained all the time about not having time to attend to students. He would ask if anyone is coming to his office hours then say he is really busy and doesn't have time. He then whines about how only 2 students showed up to office hours. Terrible at teaching a subject matter. Study old tests to make an A. He is too lazy to write test Q's ...Continue reading

Grade is made up of 3 exams (25% each), clicker questions (10%), and weekly HW (15%). Dr. A taught the first half of the course while Dr. W taught the second. He was significantly more clear and more helpful than Dr. W. Clicker questions and HW are easy (also gives extra HW and CQ). All test material is on the slides, so textbook not necessary. ...Continue reading

  • Class rating 2/5
By far the hardest class I have taken at UH. I have never put more effort into a class. In order to do well in this class, attendance is mandatory and taking good notes is very important. If you mess up on one test, it is hard to comeback from since the OPTIONAL final only averages into the test averages. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER. ...Continue reading

horrible lectures. smart guy but not a very good professor. needs huge help in smoother flow of class and pronunciation and needs to reevaluate his grading scale. one of the worst most boring teachers I ever had. work hard in class and you should do fine. you could probably learn more by teaching yourself than this guy but attendance is taken. ...Continue reading
