It was a lot of work but doable and she made it interesting. She displays a true passion for her subject that is hard to find. Dr. Haynes was one of the best professors I have had at UGA. Discussion paper once a week, 2 pages with easy topics. 3 exams, all easy. Read the lecture notes and read the book. She also makes study guides. PARTICIPATE in your breakout class. Speak up and be a part of the discussion, it will hurt your grade if you don't. Trust me, i'm lucky I still got an A after my breakout grade. talked about her family, her times at uga and in grad school. she really also loved politics and brought on great discussions. only complaint: had trouble prouncing names. ...Continue reading

Dr. Haynes is one of the best Professor I have had so far at UGA! She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about political science and sparked my interest in it as well. Her tests are not challenging if you do the study guides and know the material, but she makes it so easy for you to understand everything that it is not a daunting task at all! She never finishes PPT's in class b/c she goes on tangents. Breakouts not bad w/ a few papers to write. Really funny teacher, though. Really enjoyed Prof Haynes and her class! I came into her class of about 300 people expecting to receive no attention or concern from my professor and experienced the opposite! Her tests are fair, she provides extremely helpful study guides, and gives bonus points on days with low attendance. She really cares about her students and wants you to succeed! Dr. Haynes rocks. She's intelligent, funny, and witty. Lecture can be a little dull at times, but she tries to make it interesting. Tests are easy if you do the study guides and study them well. Breakout assignments weren't too bad. I'd definitely recommend her! ...Continue reading

She is an amazing professor! She doesn't just want you to pass her tests, she wants you to learn the material and really apply it. She's even inspired me to minor in Political Science. You will have to read the book, but the info is relevant so it isn't terrible. Online quizzes every week can be a grade booster too. She lectured in a very casual but directed kind of way. I liked the slides and the tidbits of stuff she had linked for us in them. Breakouts were good. And she always stayed to chat. Nice and good teacher. Made me want to vote. ...Continue reading
