General Format: essay should be typed double spaced on standard paper (8.5x11)  12in font times new roman   title page should have the author's name, and the institutional    Reference List: Articles in Periodicals  In the APA style the authors are named by their last name first followed by initials, and the  publication year goes between the parenthesis followed by a period. The title is in the sentence  case where the 1st word and proper nouns are the only ones capitalized. The periodical title is  in the title case followed by the volume number. (all italicized). DOI goes after the page numbers    Reference List: Books  Author, A.A.(year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter for subtitle. Location of publisher      Reference List Basic Rules  Reference list at end of paper lable page References   All lines after fist should be indented   Author last name first alphabetized     Author/Authors  Single author last name followed by author’s initials   Two Authors list by last names and initials use ampersand instead of and  3­7 Authors list by last name and initials use ampersand before last name  more than 7 list by last name and initials after 6 use ellipse in place of authors name then  provide final name  If you have two works by same author use earliest to latest   if author is unknown for parenthetical documentation use shortened version of sources title           Reference List: Other print resources  ●  Encyclopedia entry:  Lastname,First initial (year). Title.​ncyclopedia name. (volume #, page #). City, State          Sample Paper   ● Title should summarize the paper’s main idea.   ● Title should be centered, 12 points Times New Roman font.   ● Author’s name and institution should be double spaced and centered.  ● Header­ Should be shorter version of title, ALL capitalized, only on title page Running  head; TITLE page number   ●        In­Text Citation: The Basics  ● Short Quotations​ ­ Author's name, year of publication, comma, then quote, then page number in  parenthesis, period.    ● Long Quotations­​  Author’s name, year of publication in parenthesis, colon, quote without  quotations, period, page in parenthesis.  ● Summary is the same as short quotations except       In­Text Citation: Author/Authors    ●  ​ Two or more Authors ­ (Author. and Author, Date)  ● Three to five­ (Authors last names only, Lastname, Lastname, Date)  ● Six or more­ (Primary Author’s last name, followed by et al., Date)
