Facts about Philosophy:  Philosophy is a branch of science.  Philosophy is NOT a matter of opinion.  Not everything is relative to Philosophy.  The goal of Philosophy is to know the truth.  Philosophy is NOT transcendental.  To do philosophy is to try to answer philosophical questions by giving arguments that use secular reasons only.  The goal of philosophy is NOT to escape from the cycle of rebirth.  It is NOT a rule to answer philosophical questions by sense perception.  In Philosophy your concepts determine how things appear to you.  A valid argument can fail to prove anything in this subject. Know What an Argument Is!  A set of one or more sentences that imply that something is true.  Remember that there are THREE types of arguments! 1.)Deductive: If the truth of the subject is presented logically describing the truth of its conclusion.  If it is impossible to for the premise to be true and for the conclusion to be false at the same time then the deductive argument is valid.  The deductive argument is sound if the argument is true and everything in the argument is true as well. Nothing can be false. 2.)Inductive: An argument presented by a person that is meant to increase the probability of the conclusion being true. 3.)Abductive: An argument that is a basic set of assumptions or observations and results in an explanation of those observations.  Check the history of philosophy. (Socrates, Cahn, Frekena etc.)  Know the scientific method.  Know the philosophical method.  Know about moral reasoning and why we need it.  Know about the current distinctions that we are currently going over:  1.)
