BIOLOGY 111: LAB PRACTICAL 3 Elizabeth Balogh Here are some study tips that will hopefully help you get a better grade on any exam: 1. Study 30-50 minutes at a time, then have a 10-minute break. 2. Study the material like you have to teach it to the class; if you can teach your friends about it, then you know the material. 3. If you study material before you go to bed, you are more likely to know that material the next day. 4. Using colorful post-it notes or pens will make you remember it more easily. 5. Turn off distraction, such as your phone and television. If you cannot turn off your phone, put it as far out of your reach as possible. 6. Make up a crazy story to remember the material better. 7. Studying the same material in different places makes you less likely to forget that info. 8. Switch up the material you are studying. Spend half an hour on one subject then go to a different subject to give that part of your brain a rest. 9. Write out the information you are trying to learn. Writing it out once is equivalent to reading it seven times in a row. 10. Read the information out loud and with gusto. This stores the info two ways: seeing and hearing it.
