How do bugs become resistant to drugs?

Description

Biology Homework Videos Review (Blackboard) Monday,  August 22nd, 2016

How do bugs become resistant to drugs?

Antibiotic Resistance (The Overuse of antibiotics):

∙ Bugs are becoming more resistant to antibiotics

o These antibiotics typically prescribed will soon no longer be effective due to resistance

∙ We are in a state of antibiotic crisis that could mean routine  surgeries and procedures may no longer be possible due to the  inability of our antibiotics to keep uWe also discuss several other topics like How does ph affect enzyme activity?
If you want to learn more check out Why is technological knowledge important?
p with mutated bacteria We also discuss several other topics like What cases the supreme court has original jurisdiction over?

∙ Why aren’t we producing NEW antibiotics? Well, the drug  companies’ priority is creating new drugs that you can take  everyday (i.e. high blood pressure) because an antibiotic may  only be prescribed to you once a year therefore less of a profit to  those companies

Ocean Acidification:

∙ This started at the same time as “global warming” and the  parent of each began with the Industrial Revolution

Which process does not produce carbon dioxide?

What is global warming and how did it start?

∙ Buried carbon produces not only Carbon Dioxide (which absorbs  heat and warms the air), but then that carbon dioxide is then  formed with H2O to produce Carbonic Acid

o The worlds sea water has increased in acidity by 30% and  it’s pH level drops more towards acidic

o This change affects sea life, some creatures suffocate while others reproduce less, some muscles slow making hunting  for food difficault, some even breaking down the calcium in protective outer shells  Don't forget about the age old question of What is came from old common law to ask the judge to fine in a particular way?
Don't forget about the age old question of What is the difference between theory and hypotheses?
We also discuss several other topics like Why study research methods?

o This acidity plus over fishing causes extinction
