15th Amendment
march 30, 1870, for african american men, gave them the right to vote, 
mainly in the south, the right to vote can not be denied from somebody 
because of race.

senator lyman trumbull proposed the act, first law to define citizenship and 
equal protection to all citizens under law, was in april

Battle of Little Big Horn
led by George, the mission was to take the tribe and put them into

Ghost Dance
native american tribes, large numbers of indians gathered together for 
singing and dancing, dec. 29th, indians thought a day would come when 
whites would leave and they would get their land back
Wounded Knee Massacre
native americans, troops killed 150-200 children, whites didnt like that the 
indians praised them when they left
Vertical Integration
a company that controlled every phase of business like raw materials and 
transportation, in the northeast and midwest, many firms used it to reduce 
cost
Gilded Age

social life, missions to help those in poverty , late 1800s-early 1900s
Great Railroad Strike
workers who went on strike because the company had reduced the wages 
twice, they refused to let the trains run until the most recent pay cut was 
returned, in Pittsburg, Chicago, and St. Louis
