Noah, Zeus floods mankind because he hates them, but Prometheus’ 
children survive and recreates humans using rocks
Myth of the 5 ages: Ages of Man are gold, silver, bronze, Heroes, and 
iron
First age is the Golden Age during the time of the Titans in which there 
is no pain and suffering
The Silver Age features men having long childhoods, but short lives 
and sees a rise in crime
Bronze Age humans fight in Hesiod and the Ovid is just as violent Iron Age is the current age and the worst age Prometheus “Forethought” is the grandson of the first king and queen 
of the gods
His brothers are Epimetheus “afterthought” and Atlas Prometheus teaches mortals how to sacrifice and eat meat He tricks Zeus into taking the fat and bones of animals, so Zeus takes 
fire away from man
Prometheus steals fire back and is punished by having his liver eaten 
by an eagle every night, which regenerates
Men are punished by the creation of women Pandora is evil because she is the curse of marriage and the lack of 
heirs
Her name means “all gifts” because she received a gift from each of 
the gods
1/19/18 Prometheus and Pandora’s children marry starting the Greek family 
tree
Prometheus tricks Zeus proving he is not omnipotent Titanomachy (621-725) Titans vs. the Olympians Zeus is helped by the hundred-handers and the Cyclopes who forge 
weapons for the Olympians like Zeus’s lightning bolts
