1215 the magna carta is the 1st doc that restricted leaders power the principle of due process is derived from this doc.  

There are 7 articles f the constitution which walks you through the structure of gov. Declaration of Independence by John Locke' derived from the social contract. James Madison father of constitution.

confederation articles did not allow for amendments  

The constitution has 27 amendments the first 10 were made with the bill or rights. Week 2-3
