Study Guide and Sample Questions JOUFDM Test 2 Midterm Fall 2009 The Midterm will be longer than any other exam probably around 80 questions You re only responsible for three chapters in the textbook Radio 6 Movies 7 and TV 8 so there will be more questions from the lectures Power Point slides and clips this time around probably at a 6040 ratio As before do know the main terms and concepts covered in the textbook I am not going to test you on HOW radio cinema or television work However I am interested in you known the chronology of major events the major legislative decisions regarding these three media the major players in each media including founding fathers such as David Sarnoff or significant individuals such as Edward Murrow We saw a host of film and video clips over the past nine weeks as well If you missed a class or if you if you don t remember what a specific clip was about you might want to go to Wikipedia or Amazoncom and read the synopsis and make a note of the director or significant actors involved see sample question below How to study I would reread the three chapters in the text book making sure I knew the major concepts chronology and individuals involved in each specific chapter I would stop at the end of each chapter and review the lecture and Power Point notes from that chapter Finally I would review the major film clips shown in class For any that I didn t remember well I would go online or find a good cinema reference book and refresh myself on the overall content director and major actors involved in that film Once again because of the size of the class and the inevitable disruptions that occur I m going to have to shut the doors and count off points if you arrive much more than 56 minutes after 11 am lfyou do arrive late I will be forced probably expect to see it on this test or the final exam I I m not trying to quottrickquot you on the TrueFalse or Multiple Guess questions just want to know if you were paying attention
