Discuss the role of politics in criminal justice organizations Are politics critical to these organizations If so how should they be controlled Politics whether we like it or not have a huge role in criminal justice organizations I ve mentioned it in many different posts and will continue to do so until I find some sense of closure but a friend of mine was arrested for a fictional video that he created and sold to a production company The show is called Rawr Kids It was election time in his area he was arrested at work interrogated taken to jail fired from his job where he had worked for nearly siX years and was convicted of a misdemeanor which was a smaller than the original felony they tried to charge him with They knew his work was fiction but they said that they couldn t dismiss the charges because they were afraid the public would be outraged The problem with this that the public WAS outraged but only because of what they did to him Read about it here it still disgusts mehtt voices ahoocomacharacter criminal10754155htmlcat25 sovillainouswasdeemed The role of politics in criminal justice organizations is one that holds heavy in uence on how they behave and why they behave Politics are not critical to these organizations but they feel as if they are in order to maintain their position in politics which to me is laughable How should they be controlled They should be controlled by having them work within the confines of the law and the constitution In my eyes that would go a long way if they were to be simply honest but it feels as if sometimes that may be too much to ask for Response 2 Politics affects criminal justice organizations in many ways First one form of politics that affect the organizations will be national politics In this case politics determine the appointment of certain individuals to the criminal justice organizations For example the President will be the one that appoints the Supreme Court Justices however the candidates need to be approved by the Congress Politics can also affect the amount of funds and resources which the criminal justice organizations can receive based on the national budget that is presented and approved Bluestein 2011 As such politics have a direct impact on the leadership and membership of the criminal justice organizations Politics also have an impact on the effectiveness of these organizations that is usually based on the amount of funds and resources received On another level internal politics can also affect criminal justice organizations In this case internal politics can result in con icts and unhappiness that can likewise hinder the effectiveness of the organizations should members fail to cooperate and collaborate Therefore politics is critical to these organizations and should be controlled To do so it is necessary that organizations convey their needs and demands to the public as well as to the officials in order to minimize the risks which politics can pose to them In addition proper code of conduct should be adopted to reduce internal con icts Within the organizations so as to ensure effectiveness and efficiency Reference Bluestein G 2011 State budget cuts clog criminal justice system Retrieved from httpWwwmsnbcmsncomid45049812nsus newscrime and courtststate budgetcutsclogcrimina1justicesystemT6EFIDJCKHM
