Identify three different types of health care workers who provide direct patient care and describe the role each plays in providing patient care Nurse Practitioners performs physical examinations diagnosis illness and diseases orders needed test for correct diagnosis and prescribe the needed medicine for treatment In some states prescriptions are done under a doctor and in some states it is done independently They also provide counseling for some patients that need it thsical therapist rehabilitates patients to improve mobility relieve pain increase strength and decrease or prevent deformities of patients suffering from disease or injury Obstetricians and Gvnecolooist diagnosis treat and help prevent diseases of women that affect the reproductive system Also provides prenatal care for pregnant women and deliver the baby when the time comes Do you think those health care workers have responsibilities that may be out of their traditional scope of practice Some of the health care workers do have responsibilities that are out of their traditional scope Nurse practitioners provide counseling to patients could be out their scope Counseling should be done by someone specialized in that field Physical therapists responsibilities vary depending on their patients Therefore some of physical therapists responsibilities may be out of their scope and some may not
