Who are stakeholders in a negotiation Negotiation provides people with their most important role impacting on revenues costs and management of resources If you change the person you will change the outcome As a result any preparation must begin with the people involved It is important to know Who are they What are they styles need cultures and roles It is critical for the negotiation to identify who is involved and what type of people they are Stakeholders include all those people affected by the negotiation either directly or indirectly Why is it important to analyze stakeholder interests Because these will highlight not only their style but also related issues that might need to be addressed and the process steps taken to arrive to a successful outcome It is important to analyze stakeholder39s interest because parties have a tendency to act in their own best interest and the ideal outcome for negotiations is an agreement where all stakeholders have the impression that they have made a gain of some kind from the negotiation How do you take these interests and incorporate them into a negotiating strategy An effective negotiation strategy will consider the interests of the stakeholders and incorporate them into the bargaining structure to make an outcome to the bargaining successful Agreement will occur if all the stakeholders receive perceived value from the results of the negotiation
