Week 4 DQ 2 Post a 150 to ZOOword response to the following discussion question by clicking on Reply During a persuasive argument how can the needs and concerns of the audience be met while still meeting the objective of the argument Provide at least one example When a speaker tries to persuade his audiences by delivering a persuasive statement he or she will have to do something a bit apocalyptic In his or her quest of making the audience believe in their argument the speaker should rst manipulate them The speaker must also consider the varying personal attitudes of every audience in association to the chosen subject Then the speaker must harmonize his argument delivery to meet the varied characteristics of the audience All these factors are necessary to attract the audience towards the speaker s arguments and to bring them along the speaker s mode of thought Following is an instance Speaker The world will end on 12 December 2012 Audience Some might be interested in his argument while others may not Speaker The speaker will now display valid evidences and studies that support the opening statement Audience Those who were agnostic will now start trusting Speaker The speaker will thus continue using evidences from researches to attract or pull his audiences towards his speech One other excellent example would be that of reverend Jim Jones of the late 705 Jones allured hundreds of people to believe him as Jesus and caused the largest mass suicide in history This was done by making people drink wine which actually was coolaid containing cyanide Persuasion is a powerful aid used in leading and in uencing others thought processes
