Select a product with which you are familiar What stage is your selected product at in the product life cycle Provide rationale for your answer Based on your knowledge of the product life cycle what types of changes will occur to your selected product as it continues through the product life cycle How will this affect the marketing of your selected product The product of my choice is the Nintendo Wii gaming system This gaming shocked the whole world by introducing the concept of active participation in games I think Nintendo Wii is going through the growth stage The company has been successful in keeping the interest of potential customers as well as retaining the old ones by continuously introducing new enhancements These enhancements offer new functionality and heighten gaming experiences Their Video technology is so good that other competitors have also started producing games using it increasing the competition level in the market This scenario has not disheartened Nintendo as they have started producing even more enjoyable games using their expertise in this field I think this competitive edge will not remain for long because Nintendo is passing quickly through its life cycle and other companies are quickly catching up with the gaming technology competition This will force Nintendo to decrease the price in order to maintain the interest of buyers There is another interesting thing about Nintendo they market their product as a family product It is a common perception that Video gaming consoles are for young people and companies also target them but Nintendo is doing the opposite They are not only campaigning for family gaming but are also releasing games that encourage family gaming
