Do you believe that the current US policy for social security has clear goals and objectives Explain your answer Why is it important for a policy or program to have clear goals and objectives NO I do not believe that our current social policy has Clear goal and adjectives If goals and objectives are about achieving desired outcome for the social policy in question Chambers 2005 p 64 then with the desired outcome of the policy to provide all old age citizens with a respectable income to live will not last The goal and objectives to be able to sustain that policy for the long term is not a tangible outcome The reason is because the original policy and the terms of the policy were designed when the population was smaller Presently the numbers of Citizens depending on the social security and the greater then expected financial needs of those Citizens outweigh the capabilities of the policy to generate funds to support the policies and goals This particular social policy is one that needs to be reevaluated adjusted and rewritten as the population rises and the needs increase In the case of Social Security it is extremely important to have goals and objectives for the social policy that support and define exactly how the policy will be reshaped as the future sociological and socioeconomic needs of the targeted group Change In general the concept of goals and objectives set for any social policy must define what the purpose is of the program or policy Chambers 2005 the desired end result Goals and objectives are the programmatic measure of all things Chambers 2005
