What employee activities does this software track Software tracks all websites that the employees visit how much time is spent on each and if anything is downloaded It can also track emails and their attachments and to whom they are being sent to The software can also block social networks and any websites that contain any vulgar content What can an employer learn about an employee by using this software What sites they like to visit what is in their emails if they are downloading anything and if they are going to any social networks How can businesses benefit from using this software By having some sort of electronic surveillance a company can maintain a good relationship with their employees and also have an efficient and positive workplace What are some legal and ethical issues regarding employee monitoring through this type of software The employee s privacy can be an issue but it is the company s right to have rules in place regarding what an employee can do on the company s computers 5 Your company has decided to use this type of software to monitor employees From a manager s perspective how would you justify this decision to your employees I have decided to us e this software because productivity has gone down and so has the revenues of the company With this software I am quite certain that productivity will go up and employee s morale will go up With incentives in play
