BUS434 Wk 5 dis 2 Bene t Packages Today39s globally competitive business environment has caused many US businesses to reduce the value of their employee benefit packages Examine how an organization can maintain its costly benefit structure while remaining competitive against countries whose companies do not offer such benefits Respond to at least two of your classmates39 postings Hello Class A company should understand what their employees want and need In general to attract talented employees and to effectively compete with other businesses companies should at least offer health some life and disability insurance Personally I believe that both the employer and employee should financially contribute to these benefits Competition starts when there are businesses who also offer the same or more benefits However there are some companies who do offer benefits but not the one s that employees want or need A benefit package is an incentive and is not mandatory for companies to provide these benefits A US organization can maintain it s benefit structure while remaining competitive against organizations in other countries who may have little to no benefits researching the costs of and options of some of health and disability insurance Dental and vision plans are speciality benefits but if it is offered it increases the rate or level of competition over a another company who may not offer these benefits Depending on the size of the company or number of employees a company may pay higher or lower rates for certain plans Normally the more employees an organization has the cheaper or higher the rates are for health insurance If employees could contribute a small portion of their wages towards their health life and disability insurance than both the employee and employer would benefit The employer can maintain their competitive edge by providing benefits to their employees and by saving money on the plans when more employees enroll Employees will have their wages weekly biweekly monthly and benefits to use if they may need it and they may be able to enroll their family onto their plan to provide them with insurance as well Employees are not satisfied with only workrelated income so they look for employment with companies who offer wagessalary and benefit packages as well which makes companies who offer benefit packages competitive Why have less when you can have so much more
