components in developing a strategic plan while considering stakeholder needs As such ethics and social responsibility should be deemed as an essential strategic concern within all organizations Ethics and social responsibility has the capacity to make or break an organization the success of an organization s strategic plan is dependent upon it This paper will explain the role of ethics and social responsibility in developing a strategic plan while considering stakeholder needs Lastly this paper will elaborate as to how my ethical perspective has evolved throughout the program Ethics in Organizations An organization needs to adhere to ethics in order to effectively implement its mission vision and objectives in a way in which offers a solid foundation to management and their subordinates to properly develop and implement its strategies By doing so the organization as a whole is essentially subscribing to one commonality that directs all of the actions of the employees of the organization Additionally it assists in preventing such employees from divergence in regard to the proposed strategic guideline Ethics additionally ensures that a strategic plan is developed in accordance to the interests of the appropriate stakeholders of the organization both internal and external J in amp Drozdenko 2010 Likewise corporate governance that stems from various regulatory parties makes it necessary for organizations to maintain a high degree of ethical standards this is done by incorporating ethics within the organization s strategic plan so as to foster a positive corporate image for the stakeholders and general public MinDong Paul 2009 ETHICS REFLECTION PAPER 3 When an organization places emphasis on its ethical practices it essentially ensures that the organization has considered the various ethical implications of every plan of action Within its strategic plan By doing so the implications become an integral part of the organization s overall scope It is necessary for all organizations to integrate ethics into its strategic planning process in order to represent its core values to internal and external parties in a positive manner this Will assist in strengthening the organization s image J in amp Drozdenko 2010 As a result the majority of stakeholders Will have the assurance that the strategic plan serves their requirements and better interests Social Responsibility in Organizations Social responsibility is another integral component of a strategic plan It is essential to integrate corporate social responsibility Within the daily operations of an organization By doing so it helps ensure that the organization is moving toward the constant development and better interest of the general public by attempting to reduce any potential negative impacts of its overall operations As such corporate social responsibility is an integral method of gaining a competitive advantage through the enhancement of its corporate image through the perspective of the stakeholders and general public Knowing this more and more organizations are allocating additional resources in an attempt to strengthen their commitment to society This is commonly demonstrated in the reduction of environmental pollution or assisting in providing financial resources for various social causes MinDong Paul 2009 When an organization focuses on social responsibility Within its strategic plan it assists in making sure that the organization upholds a positive corporate image from the perspective of the stakeholders and general public Social responsibility has the capacity to be integrated With strategic planning When ETHICS REFLECTION PAPER 4 doing so it is imperative that organizations identify their strengths With their core competencies While evaluating the markets in which they are operating in MinDong Paul 2009 As eluded above the primary goal of doing so is to satisfy the stakeholders and general public While maintaining a positive public image Accordingly it is advantageous for all organizations to predict re ect and attempt to meet and exceed the everchanging requirements of the stakeholders and general public in order to not only be successful but to merely survive Personal Ethical Perspective While going through my academic program I have learned the importance of organizations having to integrate strategic planning in accordance With ethics and social responsibility practices it is necessary for an organization s survival As such an organization needs to implement its mission strategy and vision While considering the stakeholders and general public My academic program has brought me to this realization and provided me With a means to effectively associate the implications of an organization s ethics and social responsibility from a strategic perspective When integrated effectively establishing these components Within the organization s strategic plan has the capacity to
