Q What challenges do you foresee in creating and implementing a quality management system in your organization? Ans: There are many challenges that we’ll have to face when implementing the quality management system. The most important challenge is the resistance to change. In order to improve the quality we’ll have to bring some changes and there is likely a chance that these changes are not accepted happily. Majority people are happy with their routines and they are not in for surprises therefore when opting for any improvement they must be informed in advance so that it does not shock them. It’s better to communicate more and more. Listen to their viewpoints and make efforts to make yours clear. Try to bend them and not break them. Convincing will be hard but not impossible. There may be times when they’ll not like to be intruded. In order to improve quality one has to at times interfere or interrupt in their routines which may offend them. Therefore too much care, concern and deliberation is required. Sufficient training will also help in this regard. The people tend to ignore the things which are difficult or maybe unwanted. Everyone should be given a chance to convey his thinking and point of view through interaction we can come over the hindrances, fears and unconscious block outs. Usually people are afraid of dentist and tend to avoid going to them. But their thinking can be changed by telling them the importance of their dental care and also the problems which may occur if this care is not taken. Therefore there are always problems in adopting new things but through better correspondence and communication this problem could be solved.
