Moses set out to travel with a dervish who made him promise he would not question anything he said on the journey The two slept at a sheik s house that night and when he woke up he did not want to leave but the dervish reminded him he was not allowed to question anything and he stole a basin from the man The next night they stayed at an awful house and Moses wanted to leave early but the dervish said no we must sneak away later so they stayed 2 hours later they left and the dervish gifted the man the basin he had stolen The next day they stayed with a hospital woman who in the morning some wood from her wagon She tells him to gather the shavings and take them home he does not think they are worth anything so he only takes a couple When he gets home the shavings turn to pure gold but when he tries to go back to get more they are all gone 0 Frau Holle 0 Two daughters one hardworking one lazy The hardworking girl fell in a well and ended up in a eld at Frau Holles house She works hard for her everyday and when she wants to go home Frau Holle sends her with lots of gold The mother tells the lazy daughter to go fall in the well and do the same but she is lazy and Frau peasant traveling through the woods is challenged by Wod to see who is stronger They each tug at the end of a chain but the peasant tricks him by tying it around a tree Wod is impressed by his Night Huntsman passing by and goes outside to explore He hears a shout and suddenly someone throws a woman s leg at him The worker retreated to the mill and buried it 0 Two Eyes Too Many o A widow prepares a meal for family and servants every Sunday but servant is suspicious that it would be impossible for her to do all that by herself One day he hides and watches her work when he sees the Aistulfs mother had 5 children but the current King only wanted to let one live He said whatever child reached for his spear could live and King Aistulf did 0 The Abandoned Child 0 Young mother let her child die of exposure One night she is invited to fancy party but has no clothes to wear so she stays in Thinks she hears her daughters voice singing to her that night and goes insane o The Snow Child 0 Sailor came home to his wife after many months at sea to nd her with a child She claims he was a miracle and was born after she fell in to a snow bank Later the man asks to take the child on his next voyage and returns without him He claims that there was a hot day and the child melted Hansel and Gretel 0 Poor mother and father lead their two children in to the woods because they cannot afford to feed them anymore and leave them Hansel hears the plan and drops white stones along the path and they nd their way back the next day The next day their mother leads them out even farther and Thumb O Woodcutter and wife had 7 children Youngest child was very sick and only the size of a thumb so they called him Little Thumb he spoke little but was secretly very smart they blamed him for everything that went wrong though Husband wants to get ride of children because they cannot afford it mother disagrees Little Thumb hears of plan and gathers white pebbles and drops them along the trail to get him and siblings home Father leads them out again Little Thumb drops bread crumbs but that doesn t work they nd themselves at an Ogre s wifes house and she tries to hide them Ogre lets them stay the night and they sleep in a room with his 7 daughters who wear crowns to bed LT switches their hats with the crowns and when the ogre comes in to kill them he feels the crowns on their heads and kills his daughters instead Children escape and Ogre follows them but falls asleep and LT steals his boots and goes back to his wife to say Ogre is being held hostage and needs money to be freed Wife sees boots and believes him and LT returns home with all the money The Twelve Brothers 0 King had 12 boys if next was a girl he would kill the other boys but if it was a boy they could all live together Queen sent sons in to the forest said if she had a boy she would y a white ag but if it was a girl a red ag to warn them Red ag went up and boys swore to kill the next girl they found they lived in a cave and killed all the girls they found Sister nds their shirts one day and mother tells her the story She goes to nd them and they don t kill her but she attends to the chores of their home One day she picks 12 owers but is told she made a mistake and if she ever speaks again her brothers will die King nds her and asks her to marry him and she does but cannot speak His mother doesn t trust her and has her burned at the stake but she cannot speak to defend herself 12 ravens come ying in and turn in to her brothers and save her and explain everything to the King Evil stepmother is burned instead Little SnowWhite 0 Queen has a mirror that she asks who the quotfairest of them allquot is Oneday mirror says a girl named SnowWhite is prettier Queen sends hunter to kill snowwhite but he can t do it so he brings back an animals heart and SnowWhite hides out in the forest 7 Dwarfs come back to their home and nd her sleeping her their bed take care of her and let her live with them Queen asks mirror again and nds Snow White is still alive Goes and pretends to sell laces and laces her dress up so tight Snow White suffocates Dwarfs nd her and save her Queen asks mirror again and is shocked SW is still alive Queen pretends to sell SW a comb and poisons her Dwarfs return again in time to save her Queen poisons and apple and goes back eats half and gives SW the other half and she falls dead Mirror says Queen is the prettiest again Prince nds her at the Dwarfs house in a glass cof n and they give her to him so he can observe her beauty at his castle Servants grow tired of carrying her around in the coffin and hit it at the back apple becomes dislodged from her throat and she wakes up SW and Prince get married Queen goes out of anger and is forced to dance her into a bonga like himself and carried her off The sister comes back as a tall stack of bamboo and a jogi passes by and brings an axe to cut it down to make a ddle He gets ready but the bamboo calls out quotdon t cut at the root cut higher upquot and then quotdon t cut high up cut the rootquot multiple times until the jogi gets angry and cuts it and makes a ddle The jogi plays the ddle for money and delights everyone one day passing the house of the 7 brothers and they are so moved by the music they ask to buy it The jogi would not sell it but the brothers fed him and got him drunk and switched an old ddle for his special one When everyone was gone the bonga girl would come out of the ddle and prepare meals for the family One day she is caught doing this and the brothers rejoice But she yells at them for not making their wives treat her better and that is it o The Singing Bone 0 Wild boar roamed forest and killed people so the king made an offer that whoever killed it could marry his daughter 3 brothers in the kingdom oldest was sly and clever second was ordinary smart and youngest was innocent and slowwitted They set out to kill the boar two oldest went together and youngest went alone Old man approached him in the woods and gave him a lance to attack the boar with and he did it He comes home to show his two older brothers and they kill him and take the boar and burry him under a bridge The oldest one took the boar to the king and married his daughter Many years later a Shepard crosses the bridge spots a shiny bone and takes it to carve a mouthpiece with Once he starts boy dashed the biggest to pieces cowing the others and got the milk The troll swore he didn39t believe it but the boy tossed him to the eleven lions which had come with him and then rescued him The troll then told the old woman that he had two brothers twelve times his strength that was why he was here having been turned out of their home They had apples that would make someone sleep for three days and three nights and the boy would be unable to keep from eating them The old woman sent her son to get her apples from their garden He went with the lions ate some apples and slept On the third
