The two new Pepsi Next flavors are Mango and Cherry Vanilla. Remove remaining green leaves (if any) and rinse them thoroughly un der a stream of water. The remaining white leaves may be used without any further checking other than a cursory in spection for obvious insect infestation. Pre washed and shredded may be used without hashgacha. No further washing is required. In response to numerous consumer enquiri es regarding the use of certain types of schach, this year, the Home Depot store located at 6211 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago, IL 60659 is selling Natural Reed Fencing (a.k.a. Woven Natural Reed Privacy Screening) under the Gardenpath brand name. This fencing may be used as schach if 1) the reeds are placed perpendicular to the schach support-beams rather than parallel to the beams. 2) a 2 X 4 or some other piece of kosher schach should be placed on top of the fencing so that the fe ncing is secure enough to not blow off during Succos. This condition applies to all lightweight schach including mats, and is based on Shulchan Aruch 628:2. Other similar items sold in this or other stores have not been investigated and should only be used after consulting with one’s Rabbi. Please be advised that OK does not certify any Red Mango Frozen Yogurt stores. Red Mango Original Yogurt and Red Mango Classic Yogurt are certified by OK Kosher Certific ation as kosher dairy (OK-D - cholov stam) in their original sealed packages. The OK is not responsible for the kashrus of any other product, equipment, or process used in any Red Mango stores. Artichoke Hearts and Artichoke Quarters distributed by Flora Foods bears an unauthorized Kof-K. The product is sold primarily in Florida and on the internet. Future packaging will not bear the Kof-K. Please be advised that Agrofood dried fruit, nuts and granola products bear an unauthorized Star-K. The Star-K has never certified these products. Corrective action is being taken. Please be advised that as of July 2012, Kanakis Ilias Partnership (Messina, Greece), manufacturer of Extra Virgin Olive Oil is no longer certified by OK Kosher. Kirkland Signature Funhouse Treats, sold at Costco, is a bag that contains a variety of small, individually wrapped candies. Until recently, all the candies in the Funhouse Treat bag were certified by the Orthodox Union. However, a candy that is not certified by the Orthodox Union was added to the variety. Mistakenly, some outer bags bear an OU symbol. Costco is correcting this error, and the new bags will no longer have the OU. The individually wrapped candies with an OU or OU-D are certified by the Orthodox Union. Please be advised that as of September 3, 2012 Sylvia Weinstock Cakes is no longer certified by the OK, due to kashrus violations. Please be advised that Opal S.Y. International is distributing Heirloom Farms Pomegranate Juice (and possibly other products) bearing an unauthorized OK symbol on the la bel. These products are not certified by OK Kosher Certification. Please be advised that Lavash Wraps sold by Dallas Gourmet Bakery bear an unauthorized OK symbol. This product is not certified by OK Kosher Certification. Please be advised that the following products sold by Terrafina LLC. (Brooklyn, NY) mistakenly bear an unauthorized OK-D symbol: Choc N Nuts Yogurt Covered Cranberries, Dark Chocolate Pretzel Balls. Paner Bhurji Vegetarian Rolls bear an unauthorized OV Symbol and are not certified kosher by the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis. Trader Joe’s Frozen Greek Yogurt is mislabeled and has a Kof-K without the necessary dairy designation. It has skim milk in it and should be labeled dairy. No Frills Praline Almonds 350 gram container lists butter and milk ingred ients on the label's ingredient panel. This product in fact does not contain any dairy ingredients. The product is kosher and pareve under the COR. OK Kosher Certification would like to advise the public that T & L Creative Salads (Brooklyn, NY) no longer offers Cholov Yisroel products. Creative Salads continues to offer a variety of pareve products labeled with the OK symbol and dairy cholov stam products labeled with the OK-D symbol. Superior Nut & Candy Breakfast Mix, with a best sold date is 10-08-12, mistakenly bears a “cRc-Pareve” logo, as the ingredients statement lists non-fat dry milk. Please note that the product is halachicly pareve, as the amount of dairy is minimal, nevertheless, the packaging has been corrected to state “cRc-D” (not cholov yisroel). Please be advised that future productions of NOH Foods seasonings will no longer be kosher certified and will no longer bear the Star-K or Star-D symbol. Existing product b earing either of the above sy mbols is kosher certified. Hawaiian Iced Tea Mix and Hawaiian Iced Tea Beverage will remain certified and will continue to bear the Star-K symbol. Atlanta Bread Chocolate Brownie Bites (9.6 oz), Bake One (Smyrna, GA) is certified as OU-D, as this product contains dairy components, as indicated on the label. Some packages were mistakenly printed with a plain OU, without the D. The mislabeled product was primarily sold at WalMart. Corrective measures have been implemented. Smarties 3 Feet O'Fun packaged by Stichler Products Inc. (Reading, PA) mistakenly bears an OU symbol. This product is not certified by the Orthodox Union. Please be advised that a limited amount of containers of Oregano Concentrate (601-C), manufactured by Itaberco (Baltimore MD), were erroneously produced bearing an unauthorized Star-D symbol. Corrective action has been taken. Please be advised that Cremosa brand Ricotta Cheese bears an unauthorized OK symbol. The product is not certified by OK Kosher Certification. The MK wishes to inform the public that Super C Garlic Sesame Sticks, Salted Corn Chips with Flax, and Milk Chocolate Covered Almonds bear an unauthorized MK- pa reve. These products are dairy. Corrective action has been taken. Stop & Shop Rocky Road Real Premium Ice Cream is not certified by the Orthodox Union. Some containers mistakenly display the OU-D symbol. Consumers who purchased this product may return the product to Stop and Shop for a refund. The Orthodox Union does not certify any Viva Italia Tomato Sauces (Ugo Foods) products (Marinara, Vodka, Puttanesca, or others). The OU symbol that appears on any Viva Italia tomato sauce is unauthorized. Please be advised that due to Kashrus violations Quirante Fruits Sat (Alicante, Spain) is no longer certified by OK Kosher Certification. Any product that was produced befo re June 30, 2012 and bears the OK kosher symbol on the labeling is still certified. Nature Valley Dark Chocolate & Nu t Trail Mix Chewy Granola Bars ( General Mills) are not certified by the Orthodox Union. Some packages mistakenly have an OU on them. Please be advised that Frozen Broccoli Florets, Sweet Peas, Sweet Co rn and Peas sold by Healthy Pac Corporation (Morris Plains, NJ) bear an unauthorized OK symbol. Please be advised that Mounsier Papa Guava Nectar (product of Egypt) and distribut ed by Mounsier Papa (Hialeah, FL) bears an unauthorized OK symbol. This product is not certified by the OK. Mounsier Papa Mango Nectar is kosher when bearing the OK hologram on the label. Please be advised that the OK has revoked certification of Jona’s Pizza (5650 Sterling Road, Hollywood, FL); Jona’s Pizza (544 W. 41st St, Miami Beach, FL); Jona’s Pizza ( 2530 N.E. Miami Garden Dr., N. Miami Beach, FL); and Jona’s Bar & Grill (2520 N. E. 186th Street, N. Miami Beach, FL). Kashrut.com reports that all four restaurants are now under the supervision of Rabbi Asher Suissa of Congregation Ohr Yaakov. Please be advised that Butterscotch Lovers Mix sold by Terrafina LLC. Two ForThe Road Scotch Mints , 80 g packets bears an unauthorized COR 564. This product is not kosher. Tropical Delight Exotics Strawberry Banana Beverage contains non-kosher grape juice and was labeled with an unauthorized COR 13. This product is not kosher certified. Please be advised that Carvel on Santa Monica Blvd., 11037 Santa Monica Boulevard (E. of Bentley), Los Angeles, CA 90025 is no longer certified by the RCC. The Village brand Halawa , distributed by Dolce Marima in Johannesbur g, South Africa, bears an unauthorized OU. The Orthodox Union does not certify this product. Hammond's Candies English Toffee bears an unauthorized OU symbol. This product is not certified by the Orthodox Union. Corrective measures have been implemented. Fred’s Taco Seasoning Mix contains whey (a dairy ingredient) as listed on the ingredient panel. Some products were mistakenly labeled with a plain OU, without the "D" dairy designation. Cashew Medley Fruit and Nuts Mix are certified by the Orthodox Union as an OU D-Dairy product. This product contains yogurt chips as indicated on the label. Some labels were mistakenly printed without the D-Dairy designation. Bags of spinach, broccoli, or cauliflower sold in Sunflower Market bear an unauthorized Heart-K on the bags. These bags are not certified by the Heart-K. Shatnez Updates A lady’s linen-blend Jumper was brought to the Lakewood Shatnez Test Center. Its contents label listed Shell : 90% Cotton 10% Nylon, Panel: 63% Cotton 34%, Polyester 3% Spandex; Trim: 55% Linen 45% Rayon. The jumper was lengthened with a 100% Wool fabric. The Bird by Juicy Couture linen-blend sweater had shatnez. A wool yarn was discovered in all of its seams. It was made in China and its contents label listed 66% Linen 29% Cotton 5% Other Fibers. Trim 100% Silk. A number of suit stores claim that they are the sole importer or manufacturer of Tiglio Men’s Suits and have guaranteed that their suits contain no shatnez. Most suits of this brand were free of shatnez. However, the Lakewood Shatnez Test Center (South) and the Boro Park Shatnez Laboratory reported that shatnez was found in some of these suits. This incident reinforces the pesak of Poskim; that all men’s suits require testing, even if many other suits of the same brand were tested and were found to be free of shatnez. All 100% linen and linen-blend sweaters must be tested! Linen sweaters can have wool threads in their joints. Alternatively, the sweater may be sewn with a wool yarn. The Cyrus linen-blend sweater had shatnez. A wool-blend yarn was discovered in all of its seams. It was made in China and its contents label listed 52% Linen, 36% Cotton, 9% Nylon, 3% Spandex. (Found by the Boro Park Shatnez Laboratory.) Shatnez was also recently discovered in these brands of Linen sweaters by the Lakewood and Brooklyn Shatnez Laboratories: Ann Taylor Loft (China), Banana Republic (Hong Kong), Calvin Klein (China), Classiques entire (Hong Kong), Elie Tahari (China), Kico Kids (China), Land’s End (China), M.
