Marketing Your Brand: When Should You Wear a Company Shirt? As corporations have moved to business casual dress codes, logo company shirts have replaced the suit and tie in many offices. Although it is helpful to reinforce your company brand any time you are on official business, here are the top five situations that most benefit from a corporate logo shirt. In-home work. If your business does work within a private residence, it is imperative that your employees wear company branded apparel at all times, whether it is a logo polo shirt, uniform or a imprinted t-shirt. It just isn't professional to do otherwise. Put yourself in your customer's position. How would they feel if they suddenly saw someone in their private backyard? If your business is residential moving, pool cleaning, appliance repair, or landscaping, a company shirt that conveys trust is a must. And if you have logo shirts, you probably need signage on your vehicles, too-not just to engender trust, but to promote your business with the neighbors. Tradeshows. If your business sells products and services from a booth at tradeshows, it is expected that you represent your organization in a professional, imprinted or embroidered shirt. All your competitors will be wearing logo shirts, so you will need to reinforce your company name to remain competitive. Company Event. Wearing embroidered shirts or imprinted t-shirts to a company event, such as a picnic or sporting event, will help to create a sense of camaraderie. In addition, it can help the event retain its professional spirit, as employees realize they are representing the company with their actions. Customer Event. If your job involves customer entertainment (lucky you!) it makes sense to maintain a casual yet professional appearance with an embroidered logo shirt or apparel. This is appropriate in situations like entertaining customers at the company football suite, or taking them for a round of golf. It would make sense to provide a logo polo shirt as a customer gift. Or, perhaps a giving an embroidered shirt with your company logo and the customer's logo would be appropriate. Business to Business Sales or Service Call. Even though a business to business selling or service situation isn't quite as sensitive as the consumer scenario, it still makes good business sense to show up in a professional-looking company shirt, accompanied with business cards. As always, a professional appearance can help you get past the gatekeepers. In conclusion, it's always a good idea to convey a professional image when representing your business, and that usually means some sort of business logo or insignia, be it in the form of a business card, a uniform, or a company shirt. However, there are five situations where logo company shirts are a must: in home work, tradeshows, company events, customer events, and B-to-B sales or service calls.
