Healesville Accommodation In The Yarra Valley With a lot of websites listing comprehensive selections of Healesville accommodation the choices are often overwhelming! Healesville is a small Victorian town in Australia about one hour from Melbourne and it offers a varied range of accommodation options from houses, bed and breakfast, hotels, motels, guest houses and apartments. The best place to stay will of course depend on your needs with many places offering a pet friendly service in the form of a self contained, fenced in houses available on a nightly basis. Pricing for accommodation in Healesville begins as low as $100 (Australian) for the simple options, but that is not going to include a cooked breakfast. If you search online you will find that you quickly get bombarded with way too many choices, posted on over a 1000 different web sites and locating the perfect option for you can be annoying at the least. You will want to have close access to the many attractions around Healesville as this is a central town to start your daily outings from. "While to town is great to visit when the shops are open your accommodation options are better out of the main township." Healesville lies at the heart of the Yarra Valley Wine and Rain Forest region 64 kms NE of Melbourne. This area is rich with art, cafes, parks, orchards, cheese makers and wine makers all set in the thick of rolling hills and lush rain forests. There are over 30 wineries to visit, a Yarra Valley food trail map to follow, music concerts held frequently at the larger wine producers and some breathtaking natural wonders to picnic by. The area is also host to some great annual festivals: The Kinglake Raspberry Fair (held in January) Kellybrook Cider Festival (held in May) Grape Grazing Festival (also held in May) The Victorian Strawberry Festival (held in Seville during November) The Warratina Lavender Farm's Country Harvest Festival (November) The Victorian Cherry Festival (December) Healesville, Melbourne The town of healesville accommodation is a hub for art and craft lovers however the greatest lure by far in is the internationally famous Healesville Sanctuary, an interactive zoo of 200+ Australian animals including the: Kangaroo, Koala, Dingo, Platypus, Birds of Prey and the infamous Tasmanian Devil. Other popular destinations include the wonderful gardens within the Maroondah Reservoir Reserve and the Singing Gardens of CJ Dennis. This leads us to the Toolangi rain forests and its here on the Myers Creek road half way between Healesville and Toolangi where you will discover some wonderful heritage listed places to stay... This area is a hidden secret off the more populated tourist routes, many of the places offer an organic home-cooked breakfast as part accommodation and you do get the privacy of having rooms set away from the main buildings. This small area is absolutely alive with native bird life so you often get the opportunity to dine with a brilliant display of movement and color, just outside your dining room window.
