Shake It Up With Your Marketing Mortgage Broker Business Plan Necessities The real estate industry has been through a metamorphosis of mammoth proportions in the last two years especially in the Phoenix Nevada and Florida areas Tons of people flocked to the mortgage broker business with visions of lavish lifestyles in their heads only to have the rug pulled out from under them in the past twelve months If you are still a mortgage broker it39s time to shake it up with your marketing This article will help you do that Mortgage brokers are for the most part independent professionals and as such must hold themselves accountable to working a well laid out business plan In many cases as independents they have no one looking over their shoulder asking if they39ve performed the marketing tactics they need to do that day So the challenge is for mortgage brokers to create their own business plan keep the plan in a visible location to remind themselves to keep working the business and grow their revenue One of the most successful mortgage brokers I know has managed to corner the market in his geographic area He has done this by working his business plan focusing on one marketing tactic and using it to explode his prospecting list Shake it up This mortgage broker we39ll call him Mark managed to grow his prospecting list from 300 to 2700 by utilizing Video Marketing to become wellknown and to invite new prospects to join his network He now has close to fifty loans getting ready to close in his pipeline Mark started out by joining Toastmasters in 2007 to improve his public speaking skills During his icebreaker speech he had 67 ums and ahs Determined to improve his skills he stuck with public speaking and over a two year period became very comfortable in front of a group He then joined on with a Video Marketing service that allows him to send out emails to his list that include a link to a video that he creates himself The service allows him to see who opened the emails who forwarded the emails and what comments they have made on the site containing the videos Mark makes Video Marketing work for him by utilizing humor and making his videos funny He has weekly Market Commentary and interviews local professionals on his video thereby gaining a new market segment on his list by asking these professionals to forward the email to their contacts Mark now holds regular workshops on how professionals and small business owners can use video marketing in their businesses This further enhances his expertise and adds to his list Why this Marketing Tactic Works Since referrals are the backbone of the mortgage business this marketing tactic works well with Mark39s profession Mark invites viewers to forward the email to friends invites comments invites local business owners to be interviewed and utilizes this strategy to grow his list exponentially My question to you is when are you going to write a business plan that contains a strong marketing component Professionals who have a written plan are much more likely to work regularly on their business There has never been a better time than NOW to get started Ontario
