The Different Types of Residential Roofing in New Jersey Every residential home needs a change in roof after a few years as the old one goes through the normal process of wear and tear. But, contrary to popular belief, there is no rule that you need to have the same roof year after year. There are several types of roofing materials available which can be used in residential roofing. There are many companies who undertake residential roofing NJ and one must seek their opinion and/or service at the time of replacement of the roof. We will now look at the different types of roofing available for residential homes. 1) Asphalt Shingles This is the most common type of material that is used for homes. These are easy to repair as one needs to replace the faulty shingles only. The shingles last a long time on the roof which means that you need nit replace the roofing so frequently. No doubt, this saves a lot of money over the years. 2) Wood Shingles Another popular option for residential roofing is the use of wood shingles. These shingles do not last very long but they do provide a unique look to your home. The major advantage is that these wood shingles are pressure treated and hence will not deteriorate in the changing weather conditions of New Jersey. 3) Ceramic Tiles These roofing materials last longer but they do get easily damaged in extreme weather conditions like hail. These tiles come in a wide variety of colors and one can easily choose one which suits the home perfectly. The companies undertaking residential roofing in New Jersey will work with you to determine which shingle works best for your home. They will also consider your budget, likes and the longevity of the roofing material. No one wants to replace his roof every 2 years; so one must make a wise choice at the time of roof replacement.
