Online Seminary Schools Electronic Seminary Training Online seminary schools do exist and Internet religious educations are becoming more common every year. While there is as much prejudice against electronic religious education as there is against its secular educational counterpart, such ideas are becoming less widespread each year, as spiritual leaders are seeing their dwindling ranks replenished with former online students. There are seminary schools which off on-campus and online coursework now (Creighton, for example), and if you get your degree from one of these schools, no one knows the difference. Advantages of Online Seminary Education Virtual coursework has a number of advantages over the live university work, including the ability to fit studies around ones normal schedule and avoid uprooting your everyday life. You can study at your own pace, even getting ahead of the coursework and tests, if the opportunity allows. Also, online education is cheaper than on-campus studies, both from a tuition standpoint (less overhead) and a travel or commuting standpoint. Disadvantages of Online Seminary Studies On the other hand, you won't have face-to-face access to a seminary professor in your classes, which can hamper your intellectual and spiritual growth. While this is not a fatal flaw in the online educational system, the personal interaction of a good teacher or educational mentor is invaluable at all levels of education, and this is something that's missing in online course. Also, you won't have the experience of getting to know other seminary students, learning alongside others who are going through the same struggles as you (at the same time) and forging lifelong friendships. Internet Seminary College If you are considering both options, I suggest that you analyze both options and decide which is best for you. Both are legitimate forms of education which cover the same course studies. Both have real trade-offs, so it's a matter of which best suits your lifestyle, resources, and educational needs. theological school
