Haley Klunk Intro to Health At 9:30 Tues-Thurs 2/22/16 Reflection Paper The goal of my behavior change was to completely cut out the amount of soda/ice tea and drink more water each week. To do this I plan to progressively stop drinking the sugary drinks and substitute it for water. I would like to be able to drink at least 5 water bottles per day, making it about 35 bottles a week. I choose this because being a “retired” athlete I began having really bad behaviors when I stopped playing. I started drinking a lot of soda and ice tea, never really making up for it in water so that’s the main reason I wanted to do this. I used a chart so that it allows me to be able to keep track of the amount of the sugary drinks I drink, so that in the end I can prove to myself that I could do this. I felt pretty good about my behavior change over the three week time period. I was hard at first because when I was starting out the three weeks, it was the weekend of the super bowl so there was soda involved with the wings and pizza. After that weekend though I worked a lot harder towards my goal, sometimes it didn’t cross my mind, but after the two weeks I had really tried to buckle down. I did make the change to my plan from drinking 5 a day to more like 3 or 4. Hopefully in the future when I continue this behavior change I will be able to drink increase the amount back to my original goal. I definitely want to continue this behavior change because not only would it be healthier for me it would also help with my weight and other things. My friends and my roommate helped me remember to pick water over soda/tea when I went out to lunch with them as well so I thought that they definitely helped a lot.
