Skill with People – Les Giblin Skill With People by Les Giblin is a book on how to develop relationships with others. It shows that these skills can be trained and honed. The main of the goal is to help everyone towards a better life, have more friends and gain greater happiness. The first thing to do is to understand the nature of every human being, ie, recognize and accept each person as what they are, not what we want. Included that Anyone ten thousand times more interested in himself than anyone else. This bring us to the key basis for a well relationship, for using 'You' rather than 'I', and what suits the best 'for You' rather than 'for Me. " Departing from this understanding, we will be able to start a good conversation, to talk about themselves or family of our speaker. All the fun things for them, which will make them feel important. This capability will take us to be a good listener, and usually get a good response from the other person. This is very beneficial when we need others to say 'Yes' to our ideas. However, all of these must be built from one thing ; sincerity. Because according to Giblin, in every relationship, there are atmosphere, moods and scenes that surrounded. If we convey a good thing to the other person sincerely, they will be able to capture this. Praise and criticism are two elements that also important in developing relationships with others. Sincere praise for good deeds done by someone will evoke a sense of pleasure for both. There is a happiness will left behind and stand for long time. Meanwhile, rightly criticized will deliver a solution with friendly attitude. Not a judgment. Last but not least, do not forget to always be thankful. Tell and say “Thank you” personally with sincerity heart and full of appreciation to the others. In conclusion, every “we” have the opportunity to become good person, creating good impression and ultimately provide better value on ourselves.
