Photography- An Augmenting Trend Photography sometimes may be a hobby of an individual or at the other time it may be a profession for another individual. It is an art of creating images. The image generation process can be done by recording light or radiations on photographic film. Photography is derived from the Greek word meaning “representation by means of lines” or “drawing with lines”. The craze of photography is increasing in India and especially in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore etc. starting as an interest or pastime, it is ending as being a line of work. The professional camera is the main equipment used and the lens is the main element used for focusing the portion of light being reflected and emitted by various objects. The latent image being created can be of two types as given below- Positive Negative From these two latent images the actual images are chemically developed. Photography by means of camera was invented in 1820’s. Originally it was monochrome or black and white images, which were developed, whereas it was upgraded to colored photography, which came into being with their discovery in the 19 century. Digital photography is the latest progress in the field of photography. Development in photography techniques goes hand in hand with the camera development. The main parts of a camera are as given below-: Focus Aperture Shutter speed White balance Metering ISO speed Autofocus point A person having an interest in photography can go for its course either after high school or also after graduation depending on the interest of the individual. There are many institutes in all the metro cities to get the degree of photography and get started as a professional. Some people also carry on with photography as their hobby along with their own specific professions. There are many institutes in various states of India, but Delhi being mini India is famous for its renowned academies and colleges providing specialization in photography. Any photography institute in Delhi provides the basic knowledge as well as professional exposure to the individual. Various institutes of Delhi provide this course but, they are very expensive which not everybody who is interested in learning photography can afford. Its benefits are the all round development of any individual from being a beginner to being a professional. A professional is able to differentiate and decide which image to take, at which angle and light intensity to make that image just equivalent to the real scenario. Demands for professionals are increasing whether for a wedding or tourism or being hired by any private channels, in fashion world etc. A professional photographer in Dehradun is as in demand as one in Mumbai or any metro cities.
