with providing 175 children per day All residential clients are referred by The State Department of Mental H ealth and Human Resources School based Program clients are referred by the local school organization use volunteers BCCP does not accept volunteers and recommends individuals who are interested in providing services in employment or eld placement to contact their academic advisor or search the University of Alabama s website Task 3 Identify Clients and client resources Brewer Porch clients range in age from three to eighteen There are currently 36 clients in the Intensive Residential Treatment program who suffer are emotionally disturbed have an attachment disorder or a conduct disorder There are currently 60 clients in the Community Autism Program who are diagnosed with autism There are currently 16 clients who qualify as Mentally Ill Adolescents at the BPCC There are currently 32 clients in the Outpatient Day Treatment program who consist of those who are Mentally 111 Children and Adolescents along with Sexually Acting Out children BPCC s ShortTerm Treatment and Evaluation Program is currently treating 10 clients who are Emotionally Disturbed or have a Conduct Disorder All services that are provided to clients include Individual group therapy Group therapy Individualized Education Counseling Recreation Medical services Housing Food Clothing Shelter services to special needs children and adolescents and is dedicated to the three missions of The University Service Research and Training Dr Thompsons lecture 2012 The BPCC agency s vision statement is that every client be served in a safe and secure environment and each client reach their potential to becoming a productive and welladjusted person Dr Thompson lecture 2012 Task 5 What is the chain of commandlines of authority for this agency The BPCC staff includes psychologists nurses special education teachers social workers mental health professionals psychiatristsprimary care physicians counselors mental health workers and the support staff The BPCC has a culturally diverse staff that takes each other inconsideration when working together as a whole staff Dr Thomas stated you have to take care of your staff you are dealing with real people If there is a problem you need to speak to your staff members individually to line up where the cause of the problem is coming from there are paraprofessional staff Task 7 Asses the organization s programs and service combined info with task 1 k STTEP ShortTerm Treatment and Evaluation Program The STTEP Unit program coordinator is Dane Cameron and it is a funded program by the Department of Mental HealthMental Retardation and the Department of Human Resource meaning that all referrals to the STTEP Unit have had contact with one of the two agencies The STTEP Unit makes up a ten bed unit which includes both boys and girls that range in ages and locations throughout services 394 IRT Intensive Residential Treatment Program The IRT program serves individuals between the ages 6 and 18 in the State of Alabama that have a DSM 1V TR Axis I diagnosis IRT takes referrals from the Department of Human Resources County Child Services Multineeds Teams or through other private referrals that are statewide and is funded through the State Department of Human Resources and Medicaid Individuals served by the IRT program have access to a variety of services regarding nutrition physical fitness education psychiatric and social help 4L TCF Therapeutic Foster Care Program Koslow 9 Organization Analysis The TCF is a foster care program that serves individuals between the ages 6 and 21 with the purpose of diagnosing evaluating and stabilizing children along with recommending followup care treatment options the primary service area of TCF is located in Tuscaloosa Greene Hale Fayette and Walker counties TCF children have unstable emotional andor behavioral conditions that are in custody of the State Department of Human Resources The TCF program recruits families and homes by licensing those who want to work with children who have behavioral emotional difficulties and is funded through Tuscaloosa County and City School Systems along with Medicaid 4L ODT Outpatient Day Treatment Program The ODT program is an outpatient program that serves individuals between the ages 6 to 12 and provides 2 city and 2 county classrooms located on the Brewer Porch Children s Campus The ODT program s main purpose is to provide children with the opportunity to be able to succeed academically despite their behavioral emotional or psychiatric struggles 4L CAIP Community Autism Intervention Program The CAIP serves individuals between the ages of 312 who have been diagnosed with an autism disorder in which trained Mental Health Workers work alone with a child in their public school setting the schools must be within the city and county of Tuscaloosa The program also provides training services for parents teachers and other professionals regarding autism intervention techniques There are currently 32 clients receiving educational and individual group therapy treatment 39i AASTP Adolescent Adaptive Skills Training Program Koslow 10 Organization Analysis The AASTP is an outpatient program that serves individuals between the ages 12 and 18 who are mentally ill The AASTP service area is located in Tuscaloosa and is funded
