Responsible for R&D Fabrication Department. Also, responsible for establishing material specifications, analysis of test data and recommendation for customer and internal use. Manager of Metallic Friction Development Responsible for an entire pilot facility with equipment to produce and market sintered metallic frictions materials intended to eliminate and replace existing asbestos friction materials. This involved supplier contact; recommendation and purchasing of production equipment and raw materials and marketing of sintered metallic materials which were new to this industrial and automotive friction company. Also, included was the establishment of a viable Research and Development laboratory for test raw materials and the fabrication and testing of developed sintered metallic friction materials. Louis L. (Subsidiary of Brush-Wellman) 1973-1980 Project Manager, Research and Development On special assignment by executive mandate, reporting directly to the company president. Entire project and decision responsibility for development, processing, cost reduction, scheduling, manufacturing and product shipment. Responsible for three shifts of operation. Progress reports on a weekly basis. Process Engineer, Engineering Department 1973-1979 Responsible for production line processing of 5-component metal products, decision making including the writing of processes; standard operating procedures; cost reduction programs; product development; material substitution and evaluation; technical report writing and presentation and limited tooling design. In charge of processing copper and iron powder for production use. Work with International Licenses. Work with unionized shop. Meetings attended on all company levels. Some work on fuel cells.
