Renegotiated and signed our largest insurance clients comprising 140 and 175 cons.ltants AVANADE C ANADA 2004 – 2007 Practice Director for Technical Infrastructure Avanade is 80% owned by Accenture and 20% by Microsoft. I was hired to lead and develop the Technical Infrastructure practice and to develop market relevant offerings for new operations in Canada. Developed Notes to Microsoft offering within Avanade and launched a number of large assessments and migrations. Authored a number of articles on security, Lotus Notes to Microsoft migration and Infrastructure which were published in Computer Canada and in the national newspaper The Globe and Mail. Developed messaging and application analysis, and a business case for the largest bank in Quebec. The resulting project led to over 25% savings in operational costs. ACCENTURE 1992 - 2004 Associate Partner in Technology and FSI In addition to client responsibilities, I was the lead of the North American Network Technologies group of over 100 consultants within Global Architecture and Core Technologies (GACT). I was also the North American lead of the Server and Infrastructure Rationalization capability with Accenture; responsible for the development and delivery of industry leading practices of infrastructure rationalization and cost optimization Put in place a process and consolidation improvement project to redefine data center operations of a major U.S. automobile manufacturer. Immediately reduced operating costs for this client by $5MM and over 28% per year of a budget that was in excess of $100MM. I worked onsite with National Westminster Bank in the UK on definition of their strategies with respect to electronic procurement (1.9 billion pounds per year). As a result electronic procurement was adopted saving 28% per year. Led the establishment of a greenfield offshore trading bank in Barbados. After 90 days of project start, a 5 billion dollar deposit was placed to open the business. Client payback was less than 30 days. The project won the Quality Award for FSI that year and generated the highest margins in Accenture North America. A large power systems producer engaged Accenture to assist its Global Infrastructure group with creation of an Infrastructure Strategy I led a small team which generated savings of $14MM per year. A large auto Insurer identified a goal to achieve cost reduction and process improvements in its infrastructure technology operations focused on servers, network, and storage. I produced a Total Cost of Ownership model for each element to support the business case for the efforts. A cost reduction of 40% of the target related costs was identified and delivered. Accenture had entered into a partnership with a large province in Canada to transform the way they deliver social assistance in the province. I was the overall technology lead The architecture was based on a centralized database serving over 8,000 users at 250 locations using net-centric, web browser technology. The key technology components include Call Center, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), inter-agency interfaces, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Microsoft Transaction Server, and COM Transaction Integrator, as well as Entrust PKI services, and Cisco load balance hardware deployed in front of the middle tier. The project was valued in excess of $200MM. DEPARTMENT OF F ISHERIE& O CEANS 1990 – 1992 Project Manager As Project Manager, I developed specifications for and implemented a multi-protocol routed network to connect all users and hosts in the Scotia Fundy Region of The Department of Fisheries and Oceans in Halifax. 1987 - 1990 CLOVER G ROUP Manager, Management Information Systems I was responsible for installation, implementation and day-to-day operations of computer systems in a multi-branch, multi-company environment. The systems included all aspects of business from order entry and purchasing through to warehousing.
