Taylor Curtis Dr. Weiland English 101 November 11, 2015 Interview questions 1. How do you feel about the Secret Santa tradition? 2. What do you like most about it? 3. Do the holidays stress you out? 4. Do you find them joyful? 5. Do you ever have troubles figuring out gifts? 6. Do you enjoy being pranked? 7. Do you think the tradition should be ended? 8. Do you think we should add more traditions like this? I believe my family would respond in a swell way to my questions, and I can imagine exactly what they would do. My dad would probably not really want to answer them because he is easily distracted and always thinking about 100 things at a time, so these questions would be the least of his worries. I know on the inside he loves the Secret Santa ritual but he never shows his emotions. My mom, even though she probably hates it the most, would put on a make smile and pretend that Secret Santa is the best thing since sliced bread and say its her favorite time of year. My mom does not like having to shop period, so Christmas is not fun for her, usually my dad and I do most of the shopping. My sister does not talk unless spoken too, but she would answer these questions. She probably would sit there and laugh awkwardly as I try to fish her responses out of her. She loves Christmas and is always trying to make us do more with it, so I know she loves Secret Santa. A lot of times she is too awkward to even pass off the presents, and used to make me hand the gift to her Secret Santa. My cousin Elli loves this ritual, but hates to be pranked. If I asked her these questions she would probably be one to say we should add more traditions, but also modify the one we have because of all the jokes. Her younger sister, Grace, also hates the jokes, when personally they are my favorite part. Grace has a new found confidence since last Christmas, so if I were to ask her now she might have a different answer than I expect. Elli and Grace’s mom, my Aunt Pam, would probably have a similar response to that of my mother, but make more jokes about it. She is one that partakes in the joking. She always has to make jokes around me so she probably wouldn’t take the questions very seriously, but answer them in a fake positive way whether she likes them or not. Jeff, my Uncle, is very quiet and laid back. He would probably respond saying he liked the ritual and that it is good for all of us to get together so often since he does not see if family as frequently. My grandpa, my dad father, loves the ritual, and is the one who started all of the jokes. He finds it so funny when people are pranked, especially by him. He grew up in an even larger family so family time is the most important thing for him. He tries to have us all together as frequently as possible. My grandma is very quiet. She is one whom I am not sure what the answer would be. Every other year the get together is at her house, so those years may get stressful since she has to worry about having the house in order.
