"If Alex isn't already a tutor, they should be. Haven't had any of this stuff explained to me as clearly as this was. I appreciate the help!"

Hawk 1 Alexandra Hawk Krista Ferguson ENGL 102 13 January 2015 Letter of Introduction Dear Ms. Ferguson,  My name is Alexandra Hawk and I am starting my second semester at the U of A. I just changed  my major from psychology to prebusiness, and have recently joined the honors college. I am not quite sure what I want to do with my career yet, but I am passionate about psychology, children,  and the environment. I am thinking about minoring in environmental studies, or psychology. I  joined the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma during the fall semester and I have really enjoyed my  experience as a member so far. Some of my favorite parts about being in a sorority are making  new friends, and date dashes. While my classes were challenging last semester, I was able to  maintain a social life while also focusing on school. I cheered in high school and I loved  tumbling in my free time. This semester I am volunteering as a cheer coach for children who live in Tucson. I am really excited about this opportunity because cheer was (and is) a big part in my  life. I am really excited to make an impact on the children that I will be coaching. I love all kinds of music, including country and pop, I am going to Coachella in April for the second time now,  and I am extremely excited. Some of my favorite artists include Sam Hunt, Justin Bieber, and  Flume. An issue that really concerns me is racial bias in our community as portrayed through the  media. I always hate when I watch the news or any TV with my step father or grandparents and  they make racist comments. This may be naive of me, but I have never understood why news  Hawk 2 reporters feel the need to specify the color of a criminal, the only important fact is the crime they  did, not the color of their skin.  Sincerely,  Alexandra Hawk
