PFW 100 Mr. Bill Zenisek T 1:150 *Refer to teachers posted ppt for more information* Week 2: Party Smart & Communicate Consent Office of Victim Services- 2nd floor of health center Can be reached in person or by call (Allison), will come to you Support and help victims of stalking, threats, assault, etc. 3 Elements of Consent Sober- No influence of alcohol or drugs Mutual- Both parties agree Verbal- Must be spoken by both parties Consent must be ongoing earlier consent is NOT consent, previous (a week ago) consent is NOT consent See PPT for list of examples If you or someone you know is raped… Rape Study Kit Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner completes exam done within 96-120 hours FREE can choose to file a police report or not, has 1 yr to report Office of Victim Services, Counseling Center, Health Center Ball Memorial, A Better Way, etc. Assoc Dean of Students/ Title IX coordinator Hosing and Residence Life Staff- Non-confidential (they must report up the chain of command) Tips for being an Active Bystander Video- Who could have intervened? Host- stopped giving them alcohol Friends- stopped them while dancing, or drinking Girl on street- confronted guy about how drunk girl was What can you do? engage other bystanders be direct: step in and separate parties Go: find the potential victims friends Party Smart- Have a good time, but be safe Going with people you know Sober friend Counting Drinks Never leaving a drink unattended ALCOHOL is the most common date rape drug legal, common, “harmless” Alcohol drink sizes- Your liver can handle 1 drink per hour Beer- 12oz Wine- 5oz Liquor- 1.5oz Factors to how alcohol is absorbed Gender, size, food intake, water intake, metabolism, etc. Signs of Alcohol Poisoning Vomiting while passed out Vomiting while passed out Non-responsive Unable to stand What to do? Try to wake them up, roll them on their side, call 911 Continuously monster them!!! Do NOT give them food or liquid, do NOT put in a shower Indiana Lifeline law If you call 911 for a friend in trouble or for a crime You are protected from underage drinking laws no prot. from other drug use, crime, etc
