Esperanza asks Sally if she wishes her feet would make her walk past her house really projecting her feelings. Esperanza’s sense of Border Identity with mango street hybrid identity she draws on everything she experienced in between space Geraldo= Bracero temporarily allowed to come to the U.S to work “just another brazer who doesn’t speak english” pg. 66 he dies he disappeared because nobody knows his last name, nobody is able to contact his family. he represents the injustice of the system who use people for the labor but doesn’t care about them. Four Skinny Trees (pg.74) though they are stuck where they are they make the best out of it the keep/obtain their sense of self strong roots and through community is how they survive trees represent the possibility of growth
