第一章 教育看中国 1. 中美教育概述 美国:美国采用的是州制度。每个州的教育进度不同,课程难易程度也不同。即使在同一 学校同一学科不同老师来教,所教内容也会不同。 中国:中国的教育制度是全国统一的标准化模式。全国学生的课本,课程选择,考试内容 和考试时间是相同的。 2. 中美高考的不同 美国:SAT 注重学生的知识应用和实用性,考查学生的逻辑分析能力。同时学生的社会活 动表现,学生的特长,老师的推荐都会对学校录取起作用。 中国:做完所有的习题册和模拟试卷,把各科课本上的重点背下来,在高考前老师和教育 局的出题人玩猜题游戏,高考才能取得好成绩。 3. 教育的目的 美国:培养能胜任日后工作的社会实践人才,培养学生的独立思考能力 (Critical Thinking) 。 学习辨别是非的能力,树立正确的价值观,培养一个人的终身自学能力和兴趣。 中国:学而优则仕。学习学好了,以后才能做官。 4. 上大学是否有用 没用: 1) 在外国完成学业后回到自己的国家工作,国情不同,有些知识并不适用。 2) 毕业后的工作与所学专业不符,所学专业没有用武之地。 3) 所学专业都是在讲理论知识,内容空洞,缺少实践应用,对工作没什么帮助, 4) 某些工作并不需要文凭,不需要获得大学学历。 有用: 1) 就业方面,公司录取的第一道门槛就是学历,学历必不可少。学历的高低与工资多 少成正比。 2) 在大学可以发展人际关系,强大的人脉关系对未来的创业有帮助。 3) 大学生活是一种人生经历,是一种历练。 4) 大学是进入社会的缓冲期,是接触社会,进入社会的第一步。开始了解这个社会, 了解这个国家。 5) 在大学中可以学会如何自觉独立学习。拥有质疑问题的能力,不要人云亦云,学会 辨别问题。 5. 是否要上名牌大学 否: 1) 取决于学生所选择的专业。在美国,不同学校有各自擅长的专业。CSU Fullerton 有 名的专业是商学。 2) 有些名牌学校只录取有钱人家的孩子,会对学生做背景调查,有资产才会被录取。 3) 一些工作并不需要名校毕业的学历。 4) 成功与否主要看一个人的本身能力,并不全凭一张名校学历。例如马云,毕业于杭 州师范学院外语系。 是: 1) 名校学历可以给你带来光环效应,名校学历是初入社会时的头衔。 2) 有些工作需要名校学历。例如:如果决定以后当老师,还是需要名校学历。 3) 在中国需要名校学历。名校的师资力量强,周围的同学更优秀,毕竟能考上名校的 学生不是本身聪明学习努力,就是家境更好。拥有名校学历更容易找到好工作。 6. 中国的社会结构分配图 美国:橄榄球社会结构财富分配图,中间大,两端小。中产阶级最为庞大,是社会人口的 主体,处于橄榄球的中间,极富有的人群和极贫穷的人群总和所占的比例没有超过中产阶 级占的比例。 中国:金字塔社会结构财富分配图。贫富差距巨大,大部分人处于中低收入层。金字塔的 基底是庞大的穷人群体,支撑着富有且少量的上层阶级。金字塔顶尖是极少数人,却拥有 社会最大的财富。大多数人很难脱离金字塔底层向上层流动。
